Uric acid in the joints. Pains and stiffness. You can imagine what it is about. Gout arthritis, of course. You can live with it, as my doctor say, but you cant be happy with it. It is perfectly true. My attacks are now often and I my doctor suggest that I should start with treatment with colchicine. Should I start on a course of colchicine to treat my gout?

If you have problems with recurrent attacks of gouty arthritis then you should take it. I am using allopurinol to block the enzymes that are producing uric acid. But I am using colchicine also as addition because it is used to keep uric acid on a stable level. It is usually used for a three months, but it can be taken longer in smaller doses on regular bases to prevent further attacks.
