You don't need to tell your mom about it if you don't want to.

I think that would depend on how close you are and what type of stuff you share with her. If she is open with you about your body and helps you understand how it works you probably have more to gain by talking about it with her. Some mothers are very open with their daughters about that while some won't even admit they ever did/do it themselves so it's kind of up to you to decide.

What you do in your private time is your business, not hers. That is, unless you are endangering yourself or others. You experimenting with yourself is natural and private and perfectly fine. Don't tell her if you don't want to. If you do want to, and feel comfortable and safe telling her, go right ahead.

Hello. I'm also about to turn thirteen and I told my mom about masturbation. Well,when dad was trying to prove her that I have ADHD,she was always cutting us both off with her criticism. And when I tried to tell them both that I masturbate,mom kept cutting me off,but then dad said "shut up,she's finally trying to be opened with us". After I said that,she was angry.
