I am in a, well, I could call it a fatal dilemma. I have been diagnosed with a breast cancer and I know that I have to deal with it. But that will require a chemo therapy and I am hearing more and more bad stories about it every day. And the latest it’s the so called chemo brain, mental problems that might occur. What should I do? Treat my cancer or save my brain? Is it worth living with those mental issues?

Well you did use one phrase, -might occur-. And with cancer, if left untreated, death will most certainly happen, so I really cannot see any space for reconsideration. That is something you have to do and chemo brain is something that might or might not happen. But that is something you have to think about when the cancer is gone.

Please do the treatment everyone responds differently. A friend of mine has breast cancer and she's on her 4th out of 5 treatments. She is very active plays flag football and her only post treatment complaint is a slightly upset stomach. Typically she has her treatment on Friday and by Sunday she's ready to play football. She does get tired and takes naps when she needs to. Her philosophy is simply listen to your body and do what it asks of you.
