I am 39 years old and I had hyperopia for almost a 1.5 year. I would like to know how long sightedness occurs. I am going to have refractive surgery soon. I am planning to maintain health of my eyes, so I won’t to know all about it.

I am also suffering from long sightedness. In my case long sightedness or hyperopia is present from a birth. Long sightedness occurs if a person’s eyeball is too short or when the cornea is too flat when compared to the normal eye, so the light entering the eye focuses behind the retina, instead of directly on it hence close objects look blurred. It is common vision problem and family history can also contribute to long sightedness.
