Skin above vulva after my period?

Basically ever since I had my first period (I'm 16 and got it 4 months ago), I hav noticed this piece of kind of long, thin skin which appears to connect kind of at the top of my vagina? And so it kind of stands up so I can see it if I look in the mirror, its anout 1.5cm long and hangs down? It isnt labia lips no, but i have read it mighht be part of the hymen? I have never had sex or had a boyfriend but im kinda worried because its like a poece of thin skin that seems to connect to some kind of tissues in my vagina (i looked in my mirror). Its not sore etc but abnormal I think :(
