Hi, I'm a virgin and I noticed that although I have an opening to my vagina and that my hymen is around it, not only does it seem thick but there's a really thick lump of skin (is it the hymen?) on the top part surrounding my vagina. I have looked at types of hymens and it's not a subseptate because the skin isn't loose or painless / it's actually quite sensitive and painful - as is the whole area between (and not incl) the vagina and the clitoris and the labia. Is this normal? What can I do to prevent it/ make it better (except from breaking it which I really don't wanna do) It's preventing me from inserting anything in my vagina- the two times I have done have been rather painful around the hymen even though it was lubricated and slow. Any movement with merely one finger inside is really uncomfortable. Help!
