Guest, you are very likely wrong about it being cherry angiomas. Cherry anigiomas are not smooth and generally protrude out a bit, even if they are flat topped (which they usually are not). In addition, you are wrong about it being entirely of no concern if it happened to be a cherry angiomas. Occasionally, cherry angiomasses grow aggressively. They are a sort of canary in the cage; they do not usually signal something wrong internally, but rather an exposure to something hazardous in the environment, such as mustard gas, 2-butoxyethanol, bromides and cyclosporine.

What these people are describing seems to be something that is inside the skin and not protruding out of it, I think, and whose dots are not much bigger than the "o" in this sentence. I'm not sure what it is, or what the cause of it is, but I don't think it's cherry angiomas at all.

I also have these spots that look like they have tiny spots of blood within them. I am very concerned about this since I have high blood pressure and have been diagnosed with a fatty liver. These spots could be a sign of liver problems. However, I feel fine and have no other symptoms of liver problems at this time. I just got my blood work done so I'm hoping I will have an answer soon. I am a teacher and I am also wondering if it is a circulation problem as well. I am very fair skinned and overweight. I am hoping these are the reasons and not something more serious as what I have been reading on the web. I will post if I get an answer.

P.S. They are not raised up, have no border, and are not itchy.

I have found that any amount of nsaids causes me legs to break out in broken blood vessels, below the knee. I also am overweight and am controlling my blood pressure with meds.

When I avoid aspirin or ibuprofen completely, they don't reoccur.

Maybe this will help someone.

I read that it may be a symptom of Celiac Disease or Gluten Intolerance. Which would make sense for me having the same red dots, since my grandfather recently passed due to Celiac Disease...

it started as a big red spot on my inner left ankle 8 months ago, a week ago i noticed these sm. red dots. I was drinking a lot of Gatorade, eating organic wheat germ & granola i recently started back playing racquetball, i wear a support piece around my ankle. My feet are in bad shape after bunion surgery 8 years ago. otherwise I'm in good shape. I smoke cigs that's my only vice. 50 years old f. i work on my feet most of the day for the past 20 years. Dr. vein specialist said it's nothing he didn't see bumps then. so back to a Dr. ???? i go. maybe it's a rash or allergic reaction to something I'm eating. :$

I have been having the same problem since last October. Mine does itch also though. I had 2 blood tests with my doctor, who could not figure it out. Have been referred to a Dermatologist now, who ordered blood tests my doctor didn't and when the rash comes back, they will be doing a biopsy.
