Hi,

I'm 28 years old and I have only been with one sexual partner my whole life. I have been with my partner for 7 years now, but I feel very uncomfortable when we have sex. The reason is that when I retract my foreskin, my penis has a very strong, almost fishy smell. My partner is clean and we have had regular checkups, but I am really embarrased by the smell. Sometimes even thoroughly cleaning doesn't help and I haven't noticed a discharge. Is there a medicine I can take that will help with this? My sex life suffers because of this and I don't want to hurt my partner's feelings. Please Help!

other than daily cleaning and cleaning before sex, i dont know of any other way to reduce smell...your body naturally produces it

you could try washing it and letting it dry, leaving ur forskin retracted
this way it will really get dry and no water will be stuck in it

What you've witnessed is a white substance called 'Smegma'
Once you retract your foreskin as far as you can, simply wash it off. The bad odour will soon disappear.

Ok my husband used to suffer from the smelly penis as well.
But i've rid him of that, I simple pull back his foreskin when he is soft then i put some body wash in my hand and clean it and keep scrubbing until the smell is gone. Then after you scrub your penis, towel try it off, then put baby powder on the head and shaft to keep it dry through out the entire day. Do this each day and your penis will no longer smell. Oh and also one thing thats very important. Pull back your foreskin when you use the restroom and use a piece of toilet paper and wipe the excess off.

The area underneath the foreskin is warm and moist, so it is a natural haven for bacteria which are responsible for the unpleasant smell. The best way to deal with this is to wash thoroughly and make sure any smegma is completely cleaned off, then allow the area to dry before replacing the foreskin. Using a penis vitamin formula (most professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) that contains vitamin A can be helpful – vitamin A is a natural antibacterial and can help to eliminate the bacteria living in the  genital area.

I don't know of any medicine to help you with this. It is normal for the foreskin to have some smell because it emits pheromones for sexual stimulation of your female partner.

It is really easy to painlessly clean out your foreskin without retracting it. Here are two ways:

1. Urine is a sterile substance when it leaves the body so it is an excellent washing agent. Pinch the tip of your foreskin shut when you pee. Let the urine fill up your foreskin. You will see your foreskin balloon because of the urine inside. Then release the tip and all of the urine inside your foreskin will come gushing out and clean out whatever is inside. This is best done in the shower as it tends to be messy. Do that as often as you can.

or

2. Get a rubber bulb ear syringe from a drug store, pharmacy, or chemist’s shop. These are designed to squirt warm water into ear canals to clean them out. They also work great for cleaning out foreskins. Fill the ear syringe with warm (not hot) water and then insert the tip of the syringe into your foreskin. Then squeeze the bulb and a jet of warm water will squirt into your foreskin and clean out whatever is inside. This can be done over the bathroom washbasin.

Don’t use soap, body wash, or inside your foreskin because soap dries out the skin oils essential for good health and the others contain chemicals.

If your foreskin is dry, you can try putting some Jergen’s hand lotion on it.

This is normal. Don't freak out. Odor-causing bacteria are collecting under your foreskin, resulting in the unpleasant smell. Start using a penis health creme containing Vitamin A every day. The Vitamin A will target the troublesome bacteria, and the smell should dissipate quickly. There are other benefits to using one of these cremes as well. Use one!!

I second (or third or fourth) the advice to use a vitamin A creme. Man1 Man Oil is a good one because it not only fights bacteria but moisturizes the skin, which is important for preventing chafing. Also, just wipe the buildup away more frequently (like every time you pee) -- that could help!
