Hi all. I know this may seam weird but I feel like I'm in a dream state most of the day. I know where I am and what I'm saying but I don't feel very connected to reality. I just feel like I'm floating and everything around me seems so is foggy and unreal. I feel huge spaciness in my brain... What frightens the most is the fact that day after day I’m slowly loosing connection with reality... I worry that eventually I will not know anything nor be be able to drive, work, think, talk... Anyway, I would just like to know if anybody out there is experiencing anything similar...
Thanks.

No, you’re not alone. I’ve experienced extreme spaciness, dizziness and foggy brain on and off for almost 4 years. I don't stay in this state constantly, but sometimes it takes month or so to get back to normal. Sometimes I've even had the feeling that my brain is outside my body. Very strange indeed. I am not taking any medications at the moment - just Nexium for acid reflux. I'm also sure that many women will confirm that they have experienced or are experiencing the fog so I hope you’ll find that there's a lot of support here.

WOW! Yeah I get that. Thank god for people like you who make others feel better. You start to feel like your freaking insane. This happened to me once for a day when I was like 13. I remember cuz it freaked me out. Now I've had it for about 4 years. I happened after being depressed all the damn time. I don't trust going to a doctor cuz I feel they might try and put me on lots of meds. I'm normal at functioning other wise except that I get anxiety a lot and why.. I do because of this. :$ It's a very scary feeling. I graduated with a 3.6 recetly from college so I did well in school. But I'm not happy with this feeling. It makes me miserable.

I am 20 years old and i also had a severe brain fog period starting about a year ago which lasted till about 6 months ago. I had to quit my job as a sales manager because i was unable to focus on my team. I had many tests done from head to toe, including a ct scan, an e.e.g., numerous x-rays, blood tests, and even counseling to a certain extent. I found myself identifying with symptoms from many illnesses such as lyme disease, parkinsonism, candidiasis, and so forth. When numerous doctors couldn't provide a solution, i took things into my own hands. I started by increasing my daily water intake to about 5 bottles a day, around 10 glasses. I started taking a multi-vitamin supplement twice a day. I quit drinking and smoking. I started to exercise more, an hour jog a day atleast. I started to feel happier as time went on and my brain fog disappeared. I did a few other things as well....e-mail me at _[removed]_ if you have questions, i hope i can help.

I think that anxiety is truely the cause of all of your guys' problems. I have had SAD and it was incredibly bad and I thought that I was going insane. I had depersonalization and the whole spaced out stoned all day thing. Then one winter I said "To hell with feeling like this" I worked out 3 times a week for one hour, never ever had this feeling of spaciness again. If you treat your body good your body will treat your mind:)

Hello, I'm 16 years old. And I'm also facing the EXACT same thing you guys are talking about. It does take about a month to go away mine comes and goes also. I have been to a therapist and he wasn't a MD so he couldn't prescribe me anything, plus I refused to be prescribed anything. I also get the spacey uncomfortable feeling of not being real and thinking you're becoming insane. It does scare me so much. I didn't have this feeling till Saturday and the night before I had drank liquor at a party with friends. I then thought maybe this is a way of my body telling me I shouldn't be treating my body this way. So tomorrow I'm going to start being super super healthy. Like drinking lots of water, I do take vitamins already. So hopefully that will help me. I hope all of you guys already had your problems fixed!!! :-) If you have any more helpful information please let me know.

if this is still happening you need to see a dr!! for real! It could be a number of benign things, but it's better to be safe than sorry. You neglected to mention a lot of information about yourself such as your age, sex, diet, pre-existing health issues, etc. If you are vegetarian or vegan you might be missing some b12 or iron, which could be easily supplemented. If you are a woman you could be suffering from different hormonal changes in your menstrual cycle or actually bleeding too much. Do you drink alcohol or do any other drugs? Are you not drinking enough water.

BUT REALLY, GO SEE A DOCTOR

thank you so much for sharing your experiences. i, too, have been experiencing A LOT of the brain fog & spaciness. even simple recall has been difficult, as well as the spelling of simple words. i also think the spaciness increases with stress &/or depression, & it also comes on acutely with alcohol, sometimes as easily as the first drink.

if there is anything else you would like to share or directions you would like to point me in, i would be so appreciative. right now i actually am starting to fear for my ability to properly function.

thank you so much for offering to help, & i'm really glad you are in a different, stronger point in your life now.

Here's the answer to all your guys problems... I get the exact same it took me a while to get diagnosed but what I have and relates to all your guys problems is alice in wonderland syndrome also known as AIWS. It's to do with more electrical activity in the brain and also comes with painless migraine. Have a little research about it it's one of the top 10 rarest syndromes you grow out of it though what's a relief
