Hi. I am a 42 years old woman and my husband was shot while he was on duty (he is a police officer). The bullet have passed through him and it touched the spinal cord. He is paralyzed, and he has just left the hospital. The doctor says that there is a chance that he will walk again. How possible is this?

That's too bad. I hope that the force has given him a good compensation for the injury. It is very difficult to say when such a case occurs. If the spinal cord is not damaged too much than, there is a chance, but, there are nerves around it, and there isn't only spinal cord damage we are talking about here. It also depends where on the spinal cord he was shot. Again, if the damage is mild, he should walk.
