I often got blinding headaches. The vise-like pressure against my skull and the stabbing pain above and behind my eyes made me feel as if the top of my head would burst off even if I laugh. After few hours of agony, a cool feeling would spread across my head and the pain had vanished. I am ok now, but how long would the relief last this time?

I experienced stabbing pain in the head when I laugh. When it happens my mom starts massaging my head a scalp and gently laying hot towels across my forehead. I’ve been from doctor to doctor, each one prescribing this or that pill and every new pill brought plenty of hope, but little relief. Someone said that it is because I am too stressed.

Scholtes, I have a similar sounding problem, still undiagnosed. About 20 years ago I had an eye infection (called "blephoritis", lol) from poor contact lens hygiene, according to the opthalmologist. Some time after that, I began having severe, stabbing, pain behind both eyes when I experienced the tearing reflex, such as when laughing energetically (almost always) or sneezing. (Almost unbearable! Incredible.) Usually happens only the first time I have teared and laughed, so that I may continue without pain. Then I can enjoy laughing. Recently, opthalmologist suggested I see a neurologist. From research, I have found no named issue, but have come across the ideas of a slight malformation of the skull, or infection, or a specific disease which I can not remember.
Good luck.
