My husband has been having a sudden sharp stabbing pain in his right testicle that shoots up into his lower stomach. It only lasts for a few seconds but seems extremly painful. This happens at random and seems to be happening more frequently. He is only 27 and in general good health. Could someone please give me some ideas of what this could be from?

It would be best if he saw an urologist to see if there’s some kind of bacterial infection going on or if he has kidney stones!
Such strong pains are only brought by bacterial inflammation of the epididymis, a tube attached to the testicle. However, there are usually some other symptoms present like testicle swelling, lump in testicles, possible fever, maybe burning upon urination, etc
Kidney stones may grow big or get stuck on their way out from kidneys through the urethra. If they get stuck, they may hurt. Men usually feel pain in lower back, groins and possibly testicles.
Inguinal hernia may cause pain as well. I suppose he would notice a lump protruding somewhere in the groin area if hernia occurred.
All in all, stubbing pain is not normal and avoiding the problem will not solve it. Make him see a doc!

I too a problem for which I can't find an obvious explanation. My right testicule is a little sore but I also have a "pricking pain" (sort of like a itch but a little sharper) which seems to be originating from same place on the sack part but I am sure it occasionally pops up in other areas too. Apart from that I don't have any other really obvious symptoms or signs but my wee was a little strong a few days ago (maybe coincedence) but there's no pain when urinating. Any ideas?

Hello. Does he seem to have any vomiting or nausea? Blood in the semen? Lumps on the testicle? Scrotum swelling? Well, I had some of those symptoms as he had, and I had Testicular Torsion, and if it is that, he needs to get treated soon. Hope this helped! :)

I'm 62, an amputee, bka rt leg. On several occasions I have had this incredible sharp and stabbing pain in my sack that lasts mere seconds but causes me to jerk stiff and each time it draws a slight scream.!!!! This only lasts a day,pehaps two... it seems to lessen if I grab the rt side of my sack and yank downward... Why is this happening? There's a slight ache when I urinate but not too uncomfortable...and it'll be gone hopefully tomorrow

I have the same symptoms went to urgent care a week ago got u/a and ultrasound, both negative, in got so bad I went to the er, there ultrasound found varicolcele left tested right hydrocele and spermatocele on the right, I've heard some people say varicocele can cause these symptoms going to a urologist I'll keep the group posted if I get a resolution, lol until then they told me take Ibuprofen, and switch to briefs

Have you guys had any improvement or found diagnosis, Ibuprofen online didn't do much, I have a referral urology and am currently prescribed tramadol which I'm taking with ibuprofen and my symptoms are almost completely subdued, hopefully we found something soon!

I have not read any of the answers. But I read your question as I am trying to figure out this pain I have just like your husband. I had this pain since I was 18 years old. I am now 42 and I go through hell almost every day from this pain. It only escalates. Today I find blood in my bowels, hemmeroids, intense leg pain, lower abdomen, groin, pubic, testicle, and bloody rectum pain. ALLL ON THE RIGHT SIDE.

I wont to all sorts of doctors hernia surgery etc. NO TROUBLE FOUND. Also ask him. It hurts so much you sweat and you hold your breath. The pain will son go to his hips. This is a really bad pain.
