I don't know if this has anything to do with these symptoms that you describe, but I suffered from feeling very sick and had the head squeezing sensation. I had a lot of allergy testing, and it was not helpful. By keeping a food journal, I found out that it was caused by MSG. This is a sensitivity that cannot be found by testing. Unfortunately, MSG has many forms and is hidden in many processed foods using other names such as yeast, or hydrolyzed yeast, or kinds of protein among many others. If you eat out in restaurants that use processed foods--many chain restaurants, and even Chinese restaurants that say "no MSG"--you may suffer even more as I did.

Am a UK citizen, female,59, I had a series of very strange headaches about 9 years ago, where my brain felt like a hot sponge or suet pudding - very hot, and I could 'sense' my brain's contours, the shape of it. Had never had such headaches before. Went on to develop many auto-immune diseases, severe crippling joint pain, memory loss, concentration loss, cognitive dysfunction, severe depression and anxiety, severe muscle weakness, incontinence requiring surgery, three heart attacks (myocardial infarctions) needing angioplasty and stenting, and overall an overwhelming FATIGUE, exhaustion the likes of which could not be described in terms of how undermining it was and continues to be.Also GORD/GERD, severe cramps, blurred and double vision, flashes and floaters in the eyes. Was given a retrospective diagnosis of M.E./CFS.

Hi David and everyone else with this mysterious disease. I have been experiencing all of the same symptom for the past five years, which seems to coincide when I first started taking Embril for rheumatoid arthritis. My theory is that this immune suppressant made me susceptible to the mold that existed in my old house, which seems to have started a mold sinusitis and the resultant symptoms. I encourage all to look closely at toxic mold exposure. Doctors are not schooled in this area, so plan to pay out of pocket for a specialist. I plan to do a through detox.

A naturopath could help you. (ACA could help with insurance if you aren't working.) It was both thyroid & hormone issues for me. If you live in northern US you may need Vitamin D even if you spend time outside. I wish you the best....

Had/have all those symptoms with partial loss of vision and peripheral neuropathy. Everyone kept saying MS but the tests always Came back negative. Finally a doctor figured it out. Dysautonomia. It’s much like the auto immune and many of the symptoms mimic Lyme disease. Unfortunately the only thing you can do is treat each symptom but they have meds that can trick your body into going back online.
As for some of the other people’s descriptions Wilson’s disease along with other heavy metal toxicity’s is actually much more common that people think. My aunt does not filter copper and wound up with 80% higher concentrates than what is in the normal range. Many heavy metal build ups mimic psychological disorders and are often misdiagnosed. So if your doctor tells you it’s depression and you really don’t think so, get someone to do a comprehensive metabolic panel and try seeing a nutritionist. Sometimes just changing your diet can change everything.
