Hi Sega, did you ever find out what your issue is? I have the very same issue, and I have an idea of what is causing it.... Withdrawl symptoms. I recently came off of a perscription for pain and this same thing started again. However, I find myself on this thread because its not getting any better for me like the last time I came off of pain medication, it's getting worse.

The way you described the feeling is as close to anything I've been able to find that matches mine. My issue feels like my hands or feet slowly fill up with a soft electric charge, one to soft to explain, but it tingles and then I have to either flex my fingers backwards, make a fist, sit on my hands, and sometimes I even bite my hands in order to release the charge. Then I'll try to sleep again and it comes back within a minute or less. It's an awful and uncomfortable feeling, but not painful at all. I just cannot sleep.

My next step is a colon cleanse. I can't think of anything else and I can't imagine trying to explain this issue to a Dr.

Ok, gotta go release a charge now. Good luck.

Yeah, good old Benson's that would be great. I messed around with the dosage and now my doctor won't prescribe them anymore. It's 2.33 am now and I cannot sleep. It stinks!!

I'm not sure if you ever had a solution to this. I've been having similar symptoms but I sleep ok. I get a strange feeling in my legs, it feels like weakness but it's not because I can walk fine while this feeling is present. There's no pain at all. It's almost like the feeling I get when I'm about to race. It happens very often and has got worse. Another thing I've been getting is an occasional wave, like a wave of fear down my chest to my abdomen. This is usually just one wave that comes and goes but might occur about 5 times in one minute. My hands and feet are always cold. I can't remember the last time a felt my feet and they were warm. I'm worried that I have something serious going on but I have been procrastinating going to the doctors.

Oh my god, Ive been looking all over the internet trying to find out what is this i am experiencing and u are the 1st person to describe what i am going through. Like u said, its a weird feeling in my hands or feet or legs that makes u stretch them really hard but it only calms it for a few sec then i have to do it again and again and again. It only happens when im trying to sleep. There is no pain but the sensation is horrible. It also makes me feel like if i don't stretch, i will stop breathing. Sounds pretty crazy but it's driving me crazy. At all times of the night i have to get up and walk around to calm myself.

I think i know what this is. I believe it is a type of cramp.

During a cramp, your muscles suddenly contract (shorten), causing pain in your body

. This is known as a spasm, and you cannot control the affected muscle and this is what is painful.

but what is a mystery to me is why it goes away when pressure is applied.

I also suggest seeing a doctor if it continues for more than 30 minutes

I've got that feeling all day long. I've got it in my hands and feet. When i worked (physical work) a whole day i couldn't sleep because of that feeling. I am still going to school and in the week ends i work only half a day. It feels very nice to put my hands into cold water. But after 10 min it feels just the same as before. Went to an neurologist, and a rheumatologist. They both don't know what it is or what to do about it. The neurologist thinks its from an electric shock i had 2 years ago. My hands and feet feel very warm and rough. It goes for a sec away if i bend my fingers and toes. Does anyone already know what it is?

Hi Sega I have had the same problem off and on since my childhood. It doesn't occur all the time but when it does it is impossible to sleep or relax
I have used a stress ball for my hand and I have tried to put something on top of my feet to take the sensation away. I am at my wit's end because it has flared up again

Hi Sega...I can't believe you just described how I feel. I describe it as restless leg all over. It is a miserable feeling and I can not be still. Sometimes it's like a annoying vibration. Actually, it's almost impossible to describe and sound crazy to say what positions you get in just trying to get comfortable and make it stop. I, too lay or sit on my hands, cross my legs in the air or put them under me and of course the constant toss n turn. It's odd that if I get up and move around I don't notice it. Only once I try to sit or lay and relax. I was sick for a couple of weeks and wasn't able to take prescribed tramadol. I thought it may have been withdrawals . I didn't like the idea of my body reacting like that so I decided not to take them anymore. That was 3 months ago and it's still happening. Then I thought if it was withdrawals it would be constant all day until detox. This is only at night. Lucky I can survive on very little sleep. I also have Requip for RLS and doesn't help either.

I have this! I found this by googling it. I have to squeeze my hands or even slap my feet together to relieve the sensation. Did you ever find out what it was? I have restless leg, but this is different. I don't ask for foot rubs, I ask for squeezes!

You have described the same exact symptoms I have had for the last month. I also have started having numbness in hands at night and morning wit carpal tunnel. I was thinking its related to the carpal tunnel but the need to stretch is in my feet and legs also. I'm starting to have pain in my joints now also. I see a dr and still trying to figure it out. I wish you the best.
