I have had what I think is a form of RLS for some years now - when I get into bed at night often I get this upwelling sensation in my feet. It's not painful, it's weird and difficult to describe but a previous poster called it a 'soft electric charge' which I guess is as good a description as any for an indescribable feeling. Anyway, these upwelling sensations come on over the period of maybe 10 seconds and the sensation increases until I just have to rub my feet, curl my toes, flex my big toe against the second toe, or bang my feet together. This 'discharges' the feeling, but then it starts to build up immediately again, Rinse, wash, repeat...
If I give it an hour or so the feelings will usually subside to a sort of very low 'burn' and I can get to sleep. Now, two months ago I had an attack of tachycardia at work (heart rate went sky high and I felt extremely il). It started to subside after a minute but kept high for a couple of hours. I was taken to hospital, very agitated. Six weeks later the exact same thing happened, and I was taken to hospital again. I had all the scans, ECGs etc. Nothing.
The week before the second attack I had a sort of weak or 'semi-detached' feeling in my left foot but I thought it was nothing. After the attack I started to suffer more from foot problems very similar to RLS except it felt more like my feet had been on a long route march/hot even when I woke up in the morning. At work one day I was even reduced to taking my socks and shoes off. Four weeks after the second attack, this daytime foot problem still comes and goes and I still have the nighttime RLS TYPE PROBLEM (EXCEPT, MY LEGS ARE ok, IT'S ONLY MY FEET). In my case, if it's bad, a hot foot bath helps, as does vibration.
I don't have any obvious heart problems (had ecg, echocardiogram, treadmill, 24 hr heart recorder, thyroid test etc) and it is not due to poor blood flow in my feet. They look healthy, have a good pulse and are not swollen.
I have had a very stressful last two years due to various things and I wonder if that causes it? I am going to try Magnesium and Vitamin B12 supplements in reasonably high doses to try and rule out an electrolyte imbalance or anaemia (which can stem from B12 deficiency and can allegedly can cause RLS).

Hi, I know exactly what you're going through. I've been dealing with this for years. The answer to your problem is a mild narcotic before bed. I take two vicodin an hour before bed and have no problem at all.

I have the same problem. Don't have any idea what it is or what causes it. Nothing seems to help

I get a lot of the sensations you all are mentioning from time to time. I think it’s anxiety induced and can also be from withdrawal. Some things that work for me: take a shower or bath (cold shower for a few mins works best for me), my wife has a benzo script and sometimes popping a couple of those will help, meditation (focusing on breathing), and lastly, masturbation. That one works pretty great actually. Hope this helps.

Hi There, I have something very simular to yours... Uncomfortable webbing between my fingers and toes. I move and stretch them all day and night, even in my shoes. When its time to sleep I am very focused on this and is quite frustrating. As I am typing this it is 12h40 am. I am in my mid 30's but have also had this since early 20's. Interesting to know what this is about.

Hi Lanna, I have the exact same thing.... I will however try the moisturiser thing. I am a 34 year old man, hence haven't tried moisturiser enough to notice. Just good to hear I not the only one with the "clousterfobic" fingers. :-)

I am 27 years old, and you have all described exactly what seems like an indescribable feeling I've had ever since I was a teenager. For years, I would have "episodes" of these strange urges to stretch every crevice, joint, finger and toe webbings of my body. I get them all over my face too: I have the urge to stretch my mouth, nose, eyebrows, eyelids, and my neck. I sometimes feel like a crazy person haha.
The worst ones are when I am lying in bed trying to sleep. I feel it mostly in my legs, the urge to stretch a painless itch or crawling feeling that won't go away until I am finally restless from fighting this annoying sensation.
I don't know how common this part is but I also feel it in my genitalia, especially inside my urethra, causing me cripple my legs in an attempt to scratch a painless itch.
I do not know what necessarily triggers them, but I find that a) working out b) smoking cannabis helps me.

I have the same thing! This post made me feel relieved I wasn't the only one at first it started when I was like 8 years old it would happen very rarely and it would only be on one foot it didn't happen for a long time but then just last year it started happening more often and this time it was both feet and then it was one leg and then both legs it's never happened in my arms only in my legs I've heard it's because of anxiety
