I am 16 with a pretty normal history, vagina-wise. I have my periods pretty regularly with only cramps (wicked cramps, but that's another story) and I've never had sex. I noticed a few years ago that there are little... bits around the edges of my vaginal opening. One attaches at the bottom and forms a little strip of skin, maybe 2 centimeters long, that doesn't seem to serve any purpose, and - this is what really bothers me - there is a little band of skin near the top of the opening, closing it off, that makes it impossible for things more than about 3/4s of an inch around to enter. The skin band is very close to the top but not quite, so I can tell there is more opening above it. These bits of skin make it very uncomfortable for anything to enter me, and I was wondering if they could be remains of my hymen that stuck around for whatever reason. I'm a little embarrassed to ask a doctor though... Does anyone know what I should do? Or what these skin bits are and how to get rid of them? Thank you!
