Dear sir, Mam:

About a week ago I had missed a stair on the bottom landing , which are about 8 inches high. I came down very hard on my left foot, on to a wooden floor. Hard enough that I felt the jolt all the way to my head. I was wondering if the shock of the hard stop could cause my grion to be injured resulting to be swollen. I do not feel any bumps and my skin shows no bumps, just a slight swollenness and no pain or redness. Could this be the result of trying to stop my fall.

Thank you katrina

Hello Katrina, I think you just stretched or injured your muscle while hardly landing on your foot, I am familiar with this feeling as I myself once experienced something similar, I jumped from the bench and landed pretty hard on both of my feet and it was so unpleasant feeling that I thought I wouldn’t be able to move my legs, they seemed to be sticked to the floor and my groin area hurt so badly, I at first thought I broke something inside but it was kind of a weird pain, I just don’t know how to describe it. When I eventually moved my legs, I felt like my muscles were injured, I believe it was just a pressure on them when I jumped but this feeling passed away quickly, but still my groin are hurt a bit more. I think what is happening with you is just the same thing that happened to me before, I would suggest you wait until it passes, but if it happens that the pain is persistant, you go see your doctor.
