Hello, guys. My wife has been diagnosed ovarian cancer. She is on the therapy with doxyl. However, it seems she has a certain infection. Her doctor recommended her taking flagyl. I wonder whether these two medications can be taken at the same time. I would appreciate all your advices. Thanks, guys!

Hi, there. Doxil is anti-cancer or cytotoxic drug. It is also used for other tumors like breast cancer, Kaposi sarcoma, etc. It is used intravenously. Flagyl is in fact metronidazol. It is an antibacterial drug. It is very useful with anaerobic bacteria. As far as I know, these two medications don’t interact. Nevertheless, you should check this with your wife’s doctor. If you are not sure in his knowledge, you can ask for a second opinion. I hope this helps.
