I just checked at my ISP site. I have no spam and no filters turned on. No trash, nothing in the hold folder, whatever that is. I don't use their site for email, I do everything with Outlook.

I am getting about one a day on average. I got this one this morning. It seems like I must be subscribed to so many that I should be getting more than I am. I know I find some once in a while that I'm subscribed to that have several replies I didn't know about. Since my viewing of new posts is so limited I feel that's why I don't find more. I get the feeling that at some point during a changeover everything I was subscribed to got cancelled so the reply list started over again.

Hi guys,

We inspected this issue more throughly and here is the result of our investigation:
  • once you choose to subscribe to a topic you can do it by clicking the Follow button or checking Notify me on reply checkbox during reply, where you're going to be asked to choose one of three options On each update, once a day and once only
  • in case you choose Once only, you will get only one email after a new reply is posted, but you won't be subscribed. In case you choose On each update, then you are regularly subscribed
However, there is a setting on edit profile which probably caused some issues with notifications.

There is a section Notification Settings, where you can set what kind of notification you want to receive. Once you select "Send me an email every time someone replies to topic I'm subscribed to" then you are going to get email for each reply you are subscribed to, which means you need to check the notify me on reply to get there.

It's just required to select this option with single click and your setting is saved!
The problem is actually, with option Never. Once you select this option, you are going to unsubscribe from all topics instantly. In case you select another option again, you will get notifications but from now on, but all previous subscriptions will be removed!

So I think that some of you guys (including me) belongs to one of these scenarios. Either you played with these settings and checked Never, so your all previous subscriptions got removed, or you choose other then Once each update option.

I requested immediate improvement to integrate a mid-step between click and saving notification setting. Once clicked on Never will trigger the popup layer showing up asking you "Are you sure you want to remove all your subscriptions and never get notified on replies again?". This improvement will make users clear what this option is going to do with your subscriptions I will notify you once we lunch this update.

From another side, if any of you want to subscribe to all topics you replied to, then you have to give me your consent and we are going to do it for you. Later you can individually unsubscribe from topics you don't want to follow via email link. Let me know who's in ...

I'm not quite sure what your trying to say on that post but it has nothing to do with settings being messed around with or unsubscribing from all posts because my settings are exactly the same as they was on the old site and haven't been changed. I receive emails to say I have private messages every time I receive emails occasionally to say there are new posts I'm subscribed to on messages over a year old and I occasionally receive emails to say there are replies to new messages on new posts I'm subscribed to but I don't get them for all new posts to ones I'm subscribed to. If my settings had been changed and all subscriptions wiped then I wouldn't sometimes be getting emails to say new posts on over a year old ones. As for this thread what I'm subscribed to I never have received emails for new posts ever since I first posted and subscribed to it. There are still a lot of problems that you still need to iron out yet and if you ask me you rushed this new site out without enough testing on all platforms first.

My setting are as follows
Choose reply notification settings:

*Automatically subscribe me to topics I reply to

Never

How often should we send you email notifications?

Send me daily updates on topics I'm actively following

*Send me an email every time someone replies to topic I'm subscribed to

Never

The ones marked with the * are my setting that haven't changed since I first joined steadyhealth.

I have also tried manually unsubscribing then subscribing again but still don't get posts.
If you need to change our settings so we get subscribed to all surely we wouldn't be getting any notifications at all rather that randomly getting them.

I have not received any notification emails about subsequent posts since my last post on this topic. I used to get them, but they stopped. I should have received 8 notifications!
Like you, blankcanvas, I could not understand really what pseudonim was saying, but my notification settings are the same as yours, and they haven't changed. I also have 'User Inactivity' reminder ticked, as well as 'New Message Notification'. I have been receiving emails of messages sent (as far as I know).
I have found, many days later, that topics to which I am subscribed have had posts addressed to me, of which I was not notified. However, when I did reply, I then got notification of my own reply! A subsequent response to my reply, however, was not notified to me.
I did notice that my date of birth has somehow changed. It is shown as -0001-11-30 (whatever that means). I was certainly not born in the year 1BC, nor in November, nor on 30th.
Below this message box in which I am typing a 'Quick reply' Is the question 'Follow this topic?' There is a ticked box just before the words 'I want to follow this topic. Change this'
As I said earlier, I have decided to not reply to any new questions, as this is getting so embarrassing, and no-one seems to want to do anything about it. It seems that SH no longer value my input. So I am just trying to reply to old threads (when I discover new posts addressed to me), and private messages. Most suggestions I have made about the new site seem to have been ignored.

I've checked all that a few times and didn't find anything wrong with my settings. I'm quite sure I never clicked "never". I remember reading about what it would do.

However, go ahead and do what you said so we can see what happens. I can unsub any I don't want. At one time a few years ago when I began finding some that had replies that I didn't get notices for I wondered if there was a limit to the number you could be subscribed to and the older ones were getting dropped as new ones were added. Like a queue with a designated size and if it's full one gets pushed out each time a new one comes in.

Yes I have user inactivity reminder and new message notification checked as well shepherd999. I think they should give you a major prize for being not only the oldest person on the site but also in existence with that date lol
I don't think SH value any of the old members input any more not just yours shepherd999.

No problems with notifications in 1BC. The decree from Caesar Augustus summoning everyone for tax registration seemed to get through to all concerned!

No, No notifications at all.

I well remember that modern invention 'the printing press' when I was just middle-aged - about the 15th century. It was tested thoroughly before being put into regular use. But that was an old-fashioned idea.
