Hi Everyone....Here is my story. About a year ago I noticed a small lump in the center of my throat. Scared that it was something serious I waited to have it checked.  It was growing at a rate that was noticeable to me when I swallowed and slightly noticable physically. The first ENT I spoke with did a FNA and found that it was nothing to be concerned about. He suggested that I wait about a year and re evaluate. I thought to myself this is stupid considering I have good insurance and my parents had passed at an early age with lung cancer and the other lymphomia. I sought out the Dr who had discovered the Lung Cancer in my Dad..Well he was retiring and I asked for next best in the office.  Ok  well here is the reason for my post. Prior to my surgery to remove a noduale on the right side of my Thryroid..Approx 3.5 cm I started googling everything I could. It was sad because a day before my surgery I almost cancelled. WOW what I read online were horror stories...I decided to stop researching and go into this with a positive mind.  I went into surgery at 1:45 on a friday. Home by 8pm....No pain...Stopped at McDonalds on way home...Little neckpain....Slept better that night then I had in months...Its now Tueday and altho my Dr wants me out of work for a week...Im ready to go back...No problems swallowing day of surgery..I FEEL GREAT!  Please dont believe everything you read online..Go with medical history and how YOU FEEL  ...You will be great!
