first.. i have hypospadia and have had microhematuria (at times) . my urologists thiniks it may be due to a small urethral opening; however..after yrs of worring and testing, all is fine.

anywho.. on two occasions after long bike rides and wearing tight spandex bike shorts - where everything is crunched up- i noticed a slight burning during urination. It goes away after two urination.

it only occured after biking (with tight shorts) -twice- and i was wearing the shorts for 7-8 hrs each time.

this doesn't seem normal to me..so i am planning an appt with my uro doc.

It is good that you are seeing your uro. But from what i read, it is just because the tip is crunched up, and gets not enough oxygen to it really. It's nothing to be scared of and it cannot harm you, it just burns. But, let me know what your uro. says.

Depending on how you wear your bike shorts, down , up, left ,right, or as you say all scrunched up that after a long ride you have sweated a lot, and there has to be a certain amount of movement of the fabric of the shorts. I know it has give to it, but I would think there would be some irratation from that, not to mention the sweat that is likely to accumulate, with the salt and all in sweat, I'm sure that would irritate it too.Not to mention the increased heat that your body would be putting out, would probably contribute to the problem as well. I can't think of any position bent over and on that type seat where you wouldn't get some irratation. Spandex you think of as soft, but is all man made fibers, I would try a small square if cloth, like a high thread count cotton, the higher the thread count the smoother the surface . Or if your going to be dripping wet anyway, taking a bit of water, from your water bottle and rinse your crotch. That should at least get rid of some of the salt that build up.I wear a baseball cap to work, and by the end of the day it is dripping from the end of the visor part in front,.and when dry, leaves a line around the hat from the salt. Just rinsing a few time during your ride might help it from happening. Will be interested in what the uro says also.
