I have recently contracted both chlamidia and ghonerea from my partner. We broke up for a little while and he caught it and passed it to me. We have both gotten treated 2 days ago but i am worried about giving it to my daughter by kissing her. I have done a bit of research and so far by the sounds of it if you have oral sex you can get it in the mouth and pass it on by kissing. I have given my partner oral sex since we have been back together but i don't have anything wrong with my mouth and i don't know the signs to look for. I would really appreciate some professional opinions.

Thank you!

Hi mama,

They are both bacterial in nature.  It gets into your body and is carried everywhere.

Saliva is usually pretty good at fighting infections.  According to the NHS, National Health Service (UK) you can't catch it from kissing.

Besides, you're very likely not exchanging saliva with your daughter.

She should be fine.  Ask her pediatrician if you choose.
