I am not in the best physical shape but I am not totally out of shape because of my job. I have recently got a treadmill and for the past few days have started using it. Today I ran/walked a mile in 12 minutes (pathetic I know).

I weigh 175 pounds and I am 5'11 and haven't ran for long distances in years. Anyone have any idea how I should start out? People say to walk but I just feel that is useless. Let me know. Thanks a lot.
