I have been sick for the past week with a cold. Lots of congestion, coughing, and a slight fever earlier in the week. I have been on anti biotics and cough syrup to help get rid of the cold and I am feeling better I still have a little bit of congestion and a slight cough, but not much else. This morning i woke up with the underneath part of my tongue swollen and painful. It is mainly on the right side. There are no small bumps or anything. Just swollen on the right side and painful. It hurts when i move it or try to swollow. It even causes the rest of my jaw on the right side to be tender to the touch. Could it be caused by the cold I am fighting off? I've never had this before and it is worring me greatly. Please let me know any thing you can think of. I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm 53 years old and had my tonsils/adnoids/uvula removed 8 weeks ago. No my throat feels like there is something stuck in it and my tongue is swollen. Not thrilled with the results. Is there anything that can be done.
