I had the similar problem and after I was coughing for about 3 weeks I went to a physician's office. I was afraid it was pneumonia. But since my doctor was in a great mood she has explained to me that the 3 most common causes of cough which lasts more than 3 weeks in adults are: gastro esophageal reflux disease, post-nasal drip from allergies, and asthma. She said that many of us worry that it could be something more sinister like pneumonia.

She said that pneumonia without fever, body aches, fatigue, and shortness of breath doesn’t exist and that I shouldn’t be worried because dry cough doesn’t mean I am sick.

The best thing you can do is to visit your doctor and follow his instructions.
