For the past two years I've seen GI doctors, therapists, head doctors, etc. And no one can find my diagnosis.
My symptoms include stomach pains, constant vomiting, migraines, and some bathroom problems.
But that main problem has to be the vomiting. Usually everything I eat goes right though me. I can only hold down things at certain times and certain places. And it's no particular foods, for example, I could get sick on toast one day and the next day have toast and not get sick.
There are no real patterns I've noticed it just comes and goes.
I've seen seven therapists in the past year.
And they've done nothing. They gave me every test possible in the GI track and they've got nothing and pretty much ruled it out.
So they figured it was anxiety and set me to therapists and they told me it just worsens things but it's not causing the problem.
I'm only fourteen years old and I was thirteen when this whole thing happened. Maybe twelve turning thirteen. But either way, it's worsening my school marks.
And I'm going into high school next year and because of my days off of school and bad grades, I didn't get into the high school of my choice.
It took me forcing and begging to get in.
They let me in because of a 'unpreventable medical cause.'
Anyways. The puking stopped for a little while.
Like a week, which is a great success when you're puking every day.
But now it's all back to normal. And I hate it.
I've also noticed that my stomach is like, expanded.
And I haven't been eating and I've been puking.
So it makes no sense that my stomach would be so large.
Especially when I only weight 110-120 pounds.
A fourteen year old, 5 foot 3 inch, 110-120 pound person, should not look like a 4-5 month pregnant women.
I haven't brought it up to my doctor yet.
But do you think I should?
I don't want to sound stupid.
Because honestly, I look fat.
At least that's what I think.
And it makes no sense when I'm at a good weight.
And if I lose weight, I'll be under average for my height and age.
I don't want to be under weight. But I've been trying to lose weight and even when I try to lose weight, my legs, arms, etc get skinnier but my stomach stays the same.
I'm wondering if my stomach relates to my vomiting.
I don't know.
But I just don't want to be ugly stomached and vomiting everyday.
That's just unattractive.
PLEASE HELP ME, OPINIONS, THOUGHTS, ANYTHING!

the body mass index is just an estimation, so becuase you fall within that range does not mean you're healthy.
but because you're puking so often & you have worked out and have seen results eveyrhwere but your stomach doesn't make sense.
you should definately point out the bloating to your doctor.

I am a 13 year old girl, and I am having the same problem, its uncontrolable and its very annoying. I hate going to school and having to go puke in the bathroom, its embarrising and everyone thinks i have an eating disorder! the vomiting is unexplainable and i've seen so many doctors but they cant figure it out. I'm very upset. Unlike you I have lost weight like 10 pounds in two weeks. I'm normally around the same weight as you, i'm 5 4'' and now i'm just dropping pounds. I don't want to be sooooo thin, anyways we have got to stick together!

Your symptoms sound very much like a disease condition called porfyrias. These are in herited and pretty rare so the doctors never syspect. In females the symptoms come with puberty. They are worse the last two weeks of your cycle. My daughter who is 27 started having problems after starting the pill. She was basically disabled for 6 weeks last fall. Since then she has been vomiting every cycle. Ask your GI doctor. They will look at you cross eyed but at least ask.
Since this is hereditary either your mom or dad would have had symptoms they couldn't explain. If in your dad it might be chest pains or weakness rather than menstrual for obvious reasons.

I have suffered with anorexia for awhile & now, all-ofa-sudden, I start vomiting like crazy! The bile in my stomach keeps coming up.
So, I did research & discovered that it can be linked to what is called a gastrointestinal ulcer. Ulcers are raw spots in your stomach, esophogeous, and/or intestines, caused by stress or overly active stomach acid.
Try eating yogurt or taking some anti acid medication. If that doesn't help, you may have to go to the doctor & get a pregnancy test. Overly active vomiting can be from pregnancy. Just make sure.

my son also vomited daily for no reason, after he had numerous tests, it was ruled abdominal migraine! I had never heard of it, but really, there is sucha thing, look it up, it may help you! They put him on Depakote to treat it and he has been fine since. Hope this helps!

It could just be stress. Panic attacks, or anxiety attacks can sometimes cause someone to get so anxious or paniced and stressed out that they vomit everytime they're stressed. I have that problem, it comes with my panic attacks... throwing up out of nervousness...

I agree--nerves can definitely make you want to throw up and you really should have that looked at. Have you been to a therapist yet?

Hey I have this thing too, only I'm a guy, 18 years old and 230 pounds. At first I thought it was a blessing in disguise cos I lost like 40 pounds but recently it's been more worrisome because the foods, like you said, that stay and go are random. The vomiting in my case is violent and unexpected I dunno what to do about it. I've been on Depakote before like an above poster said but that was for something else and I didn't even know it could treat ulcers of whatever. At least I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow.. wish me luck.

My sister is going through the same thing. I can't stand hearing her throw up in the bathroom it sounds so scary, it makes me sick with worry. Before she was taking pills to lose weight when she was only 120 pound light, while I am 160 pounds heavy, and she was saying SHE needed to lose weight; I just can't explain how EVERYTIME she eats it comes right back up a half an hour and less later. She denies it of course but i can hear her almost everyday. I mean it's so bad, she throws up probably 10 times a day...not even exaggerating. I don't know but thats way too much, i haven't even thrown up that much in my lifetime. Well i was thinking that she was taking some type of pill to help her keep the waight off by throwing up but now that i read all of your posts it's even scarier if it's comeing not because of pills, but all on its own. I want to figure out what it is thats going on.

I stumbled across this forum while searching for answers as to why my son has been vomiting on and off for the last 20 days. I just wanted to add my 2 cents for all of you who have been having these problems. This is not normal and none of you should just accept this as normal. I myself have Crohn's disease which is a bowel disease where my intestines become inflamed and bleed along with many other symptoms. I mention this because I had symptoms of this illness 5 years before I was finally diagnosed. That was 20 years ago. It took seeing many doctors to finally get a diagnosis. I knew something wasn't right even though doctors kept telling me I was fine. I was also referred to a psychologist, telling me it was in my head. It wasn't, it was real. Those of you who are under legal age, you need to talk to your parents very seriously about your symptoms. They need to take you to another doctor, or several other doctors until you find a diagnosis. As to the person who mentioned about their stomach always being enlarged, I am not a doctor, but that sounds like inflammation going on in the stomach. I have had the same symptom for many years. That is easily treated with medication.
Please pursue finding a diagnosis.
