Hi,

Just completed inpatient treatment difficulty in urination (includes painful, burning sensation ,frequent urge to urinate, feel like accumalation of urine but have to wait 30 secs before urine is released).

Was discharged with 10 days of Co-amoxiclav (625mg).
Just completed on Saturday 17th May). Was fine whole of Sunday (11th day), but again Monday (2 days after completing the anti biotics-co amoxiclav) , similiar symptons started, fever, body ache, burning sensation and 30 sec wait before urination.

Waiting for GP appointment. Is this normal for urinary tract infection to recur so immediately. Could it be due to an act of sex on the 11th day after completing the antibiotics?

YOur opinion please, discharging doctors think it is more of bacteriasaema . any other 2nd opinons ?

Hi,

Urinary tract infection can be sometimes very tough to get rid of. And sometimes if the infection is really fired up your antibiotics might not be strong enough to resolve this issue of yours. In my opinion your sexual intercourse just might irritated your genital area and if the sex was unprotected you might got the bacteria from your partner again. I would suggest that you talk to your doctor about other antibiotics that will be much better for your treatment. Also you will need to rest and avoid sexual activities few days after your treatment is done. You need to avoid these things to happen to you so often. I hope this helped a bit. Good luck to you.
