over the last 6 months ive been having irritation before my period and chafing and soreness as soon as my period ends. The first 2 months i thought it was a yeast infection, went to the doc 3 different times. Now ive been keeping a record, same symptoms every month. Im soon to be 38, no kids yet, hoping for some, could this be menopuse? Is this normal? I was on some sort of birth control consistantly for almost 20 years, got off 3 years ago and im now getting used to having a period again

Hi illy do you happen to know the brand of the antifungal cream? I have a friend who is having issues like this and she's curious to know what you use because she'd like to get some relief soon. Has the problem for you utterly cleared up?

Well it had been three years since she quite pills. So I think this is a long enough that pill is cleared from her body system. Everything that I could find out indicate that this is yeast infections. Samantha said that she went to doctors to check this out, but have you illy checked with the doctors about yeast infection or you just tried this anti fungal cream?

hi, dark red ur right about the pill being 3 years would well be out of her system sorry i misunderstood the original post!!!! i have been to the doc over the years about vaginal irratation i had it especially bad when i was pregnant and he prescribed mycostatin (please forgive me if i spell it incorrectly) which was amazing. now when i get it i just use canestin over the counter fungal/nappy rash cream. it totally works for me but isnt preventative. i definitely think it is down to the change in my vaginal secretions which i believe is hormonal and also when i dont drink enough water or use scented body wash etc. i have 3 sisters and alot of my friends would suffer at some stage from this so think we just have to get on with it unfortunately....

Do you know exactly what it is that causes this problem? Is it a genetic thing, like an inborn thing? Or is there something that you need to do to prevent this from happening? I'm just baffled because it sounds to me like there should be something that you can do to feel better. Keep me posted on it, okay?

Well if this is going on for years I'm not sure how doctors couldn't find anything? I understand that you feel comfortable using that cream but don't you think that you should find some better solution?
Healthnfitnessguy might be right, this could be something genetic. Did your doctor consider this to be the case?

hi i have the type of doctor that if my leg was hanging off he would tell me to put a band aid on it!!!! well while i was pregnant on each of my kids (3) i had it so bad constantly and not once did they swab/test me they just recommended me to use this cream. suppose i should have persued it further but i feel that after 34 years i know my body so well that it is just one of those things. i have v sensitive skin as well so could be allergies too. i do know i friend who actually had similar complaint went to doc he did a swab test she had an infection she got antibiotics but doc told her that it would come back anyway as it is so hard to totally cure this sort of thing and preventative measures are best. i do not mind using the cream when i feel it coming on as it is an over the counter cream so not strong years ago i did use natural yogurt but it was too messy! if you have any more info on this let me know would appreciate it.

So you get this irritation just before your period, right? Do you maybe use any tampons right before your period?
I don't know have you tried to use some kind of soap just for vaginal nouns.
Have you considered to change your doctor? Maybe you can get second opinion from someone else?

That's really worrisome to me that your doctor isn't very attentive. Have you considered going to a different doctor? I think it might be a good idea to look into getting a second opinion or something. What do you think?

lol my doctor is so nice and i have been going to him for years but really he is the nearest to me so that is why i go to him. i only get this irratation every now and then so just use my cream it goes happy days. was told not to use any soaps or washes as they upset the ph balance. it should be self cleaning anyway.

It is understandable that this is the nearest doctor you have. But if you are not satisfied with his work, then just try someone else. You don't have nothing to lose, just a little more time for traveling. :-)
But if you are ok with your current doctor than there is no need for further traveling.
So these irritations are not really that often thing for you. That if good. I've understood that you are having this every month.
