Im 17 years old, sexually active and have been in a relationship with my current boyfriend for 1 year and 5 months and he is the only person iv been sexually active with. And vice versa for him. I am experiencing a strong sour, old blood smell around my vj area, which i have had for around 10 months now, since last june. I have had swabs taken 4 times and everytime they come back negative, & everything looks healthy apparently. Iv been to the doctors so many times (lost track) and they cant work out what it is. So far i have tried: fluconazole ( thought it might be candida related ) 3 times, metronidazole ( also known as Flagyl), Rephresh, activ-balance, Bio-fem, Hydrocortisone ( which the doctor gave me to try incase i was allegic to sumthing :S) and not one of these has been succesfull. Im on the depo injection which iv been on since last november and was on the pill from june onwards (coincedence) and since then i have had this unpleasent smell. I dont know how long iv been experiencing the bleeding after sex but with the depo i have spotting and bleeding on a regular daily basis, but recently i think its becoming heavier, and for the past cuple of months ov been experiencing bad pelvic pain during and after sex. At beginning of sex it is at its worst, and hurts quite badly to the point where im saying ouch everytime. & onto the last thing, for about a week i have experienced a strong urine smell, could these be related? And i was just wondering if anyone has been going through the same thing and if anyone has any ideas pleasee let me know, im going out of my mindd. :'( :-(

I am sorry to hear about your trouble. It's got to be really frustrating. Here are some questions that you might consider and discuss with your doctor if you have not found answers yet. I hope this helps. Have you been tested for other gynocological problems other than infections? It seems that you should seek out a second opinion at a medical center that is known for it's work with female issues, like a teaching hospital. They may have more options available for you. It sounds like there is more going on here, but perhaps because you are so young, they are not considering other things. Something is going on that needs to be treated. Another idea is that you could be reacting to the depo. Have you considered some other form of BC, especially if your symptoms began after you started taking the depo shots. I think that she is dealing with some strong infection, and this infection is not from yesterday, it is a little bit older than that. It seems to me that you have never healed it and that this is the main reason why this vaginal odor is coming over and over again. It is good to know that certain types of bacteria live naturally inside the of our vagina and that they produce acid. This acid usually helps us to fight off other bacteria, certain viruses, and fungi that don't normally live in the vagina. But, it can cause an infection. This happens, a lot of ladies are prone to this and no matter what they do, this infection is keep coming back. I think that some antibiotics can deal with it...or even couple of them.

I'm 26 & been having the same problems for about 4 years, been to several different doctors , more times then I can count to,still no answers!!! have had all test done for STD'S which was negative, been on the same kinds of medications, But have not been on the depo shot..I have had all kinds of test ran on me... This really is frustrating, I wish It would just go away...But still fighting it now..Good Luck!!!

GET OFF THE DEPO SHOT! Move back to the pill! My mom got bloodclots in the lower part of her right leg because she was on it and smoked... You "Might" not be at risk if you don't smoke, but its safer to be off of it! My mom had her leg amputated because of it... DO NOT TAKE THE DEPO SHOT! I'm on Sprintec and it's been working perfectly fine for me... It's a 28 day pill packet, yeah I know, probably have done it before, but its safer to be on the pill than the shot... You get severe illnesses from doing the shot for a prolonged amount of time apparently... I'm not sure what your problem is, but to be safe, get off the depo shot, and I've had kind of a similar issue, Vaginal pain after intercourse, and bleeding, but I'm just assuming its from rough intercourse.. I don't get the smell, and My brother's ex girlfriend has that issue with the smell and pain and stuff, the only thing that works for her is yogurt, she ate a lot of yogurt though, I would insist eating a ton of those Yo-Plait's, or whatever the ones were that have that Key lime pie flavoring and such, just stock up in that, and water. You should be good. If yogurt helps, then eat a TON of it...

im 16 and have the same problem... i am also sexually active with only one guy, i bleed off my period only when i pee, i dont have any blood spot anywhere else, i get a like orgasmic pain feeling when im trying to pee, i cant figure it out, i also have a liver disease and it has been really bad since i started having this problem my prego sister can smell me and thinks i have an STD but i get tested every 3 months for those and they all come out negative also my sister said it might have been pregnancy but i tested for that as well and im am not pregnant, yogurt does not work for me at all... i get major headaches everytime after i pee and i have to pee like every 2 minutes... my mom is taking to the doctor but they cant figure it out...

You probably have a uti I had the same sensation when I peed and I had to pee every second also so go to a doc and get antibiotics it's goes away immediately

I have been on the depo as well for about a year and a half now and I have been having the same problem.! Its awful I haven't been to the doctor just yet! I'm going in 5 days! Maybe it's the depo shot?

I had the same issue for years no one knew the issue until I fell very sick. started throwing up and bleeding through the month. turned out to be an ovarian cyst that had grown uncontrollable. Had a surgery to have it removed. problem solved. They always think STD and never perform an ultrasound until its too late.
