I had a colposcopy with biopsies. I called my doctor to find out if passing 2 pieces of something brown that looked like paper was normal, the nurse there said she never heard of it. That alarmed me especially with so many women here thinking it is normal. I had an abnormal odor and no fever but felt sick. I went back to the Doctor and she took a culture. Turned out I had an infection and needed antibiotics. She said the brown paper looking stuff was probably my internal body tissue from the vinegar solution. So ladies please be careful!! I wonder how all the ladies who posted here made out with their situations... No one came back and gave an update of whether they had an infection or if their doctors said all was normal. Pretty scarey actually!! I hope I helped someone.

By the way my culture prior to colposcopy was normal. I have been following doctor's orders of no sex for 2 weeks. The paper looking stuff was rectangular passed 3 days after colposcopy. We know our bodies... If something seems wrong it might be.

I had a colposcopy four days ago and along with the discharge I have had a really strong smell. I thought it would go away but I'll call my doctor to be sure.

Had a colonoscopy 4 days ago. The doctor said I would experience brown discharge. Today when I urinated, when I wiped, much to my surprise, I found a little membrane packet with what looked like coffee grounds inside it. I'm glad to know this is normal. Thanks for the posts.

Omg! That's exactly what it reminds me of...chicken skin. After being thoroughly grossed out, I started to panic, but after reading these comments, I think I'm okay.

I had mine done a week ago and I freaked out when I saw a what everyone describes as wet toilet paper the size of a quarter. I'm glad I'm not the only one!

Think goodness I'm ready for it this time but when I was in my early 20's I thought I had a miscarriage. I didn't know what fell out in the toilet. They really should warn us.

Did anyone else feel down there and it feel super swollen like your vag was puffed out and a horrible burning sensation like it was on fire inside from that coffee ground looking c**p?

This is so frustrating how some doctors / nurses do that proces of colposcopy ;( One of my friend said that she left clinic crying as a nurse even didn't ask if she wish anaesthetic , she just did !! Totally not acceptably behaviour :/ we are not animals :( Ladies diet rich in vitamins and low sugar no fast food gym etc helps a lot with CIN1,2 and I guess 3. Don't let them cut your cervix (letz etc), give chance for your body to recover ! Increase your immusystem! Change diet, reapet colposcopy after approx 3 months. This is what I didn't. I had CIN 2. Changed diet and after 3 month I came back to have colposcopy . Results normal! Your body can a lot you just need to help with healthy life style. Good luck girls!

This forum helped me a lot! I didn't have this same procedure done but my doctor used the peanut butter looking "liquid bandage" on my cervix after inserting my IUD yesterday. I can't even go in and check what my strings feel like because of the stupid bandage stuff
