Just had my first colposcopy a few days ago and agree that this is truly a scary thing to go into blind my doctor didnt do a very good job informing me prior telling me what i was getting myself into. but i suppose thats life. as for the post- colposcopy they did say i would be experiencing the same type of discharge to which yall are describing a thin, (my color is like a beige brownish color) membrane like piece that comes out of my vagina while taking a #2 or even when i got aroused. My boyfriend and I were just making out cause we know nothing could happen because of the procedure but when i went to the restroom to clean up i found some on my pantyliner, it was just surprising. Also does anyone know specifically what the tissue is? is it part of the cervical lining shedding like a scab? or something? lol im just curious to know

OMG....I had almost the exact same experience on day #6 after the procedure. Mine was about 3 inches long similar to the size of my pinkie finger and tan in color. I wasn't expecting that. I wish I would have taken a picture. My doctor didn't tell me to expect this. The previous days I passed what looked like skin shavings but nothing significant as far as blood. I do however have a different smell....sorta smelly. I'm confident my natural flora will return.

Thank you so much for your response to the "black or brown chunks". Although I can't seem to wrap my brain around how GEL can form into black/brown chunks. My experience I had soooooooo many. So I guess it's not old blood expelling from the cervix/uterus?? That's a relief. Please clarify if you have the knowledge.

Hello everyone. I'm here trying to find some of you with quite the opposite experience after their cervix biopsy or their colcoscopy. I had mine 2 days ago but the weird thing is that I'm not having vaginal discharge. I showered today and i touched my vagina and felt something unsual so i grabbed it and it was like yellow/brown discharge and i didn't frak out cus i was expecting that since my doctor told me not to freak put cus it would be normal but then i got out and had to look at my vagine through a mirror amd i saw more of it inside. My vagina is a little swallowed so i had to use my fongers to see thrugh it and i saw more stuff but it was sticked to my skin since i try to take it out. It didnt hurt but I'm afraid i might get infection or idk. Please help

THANK GOD for this thread. I have a colposcopy/cervical biopsy on Monday 2/16/17; it's now 2/11. A couple days after the procedure, I had the expected coppery brown discharge from the iodine solution they used to swab my cervix, along with some cramping (I have a super sensitive cervix, so even Paps make me cramp hard!). A couple of hours ago, I noticed a fleshy beige chunk in my underwear with little black flecks. I freaked out, thinking uterine tumors/cancer...then I did some Googling and found this. Going to call my doctor Monday, but pretty sure it's the result of everything described above. Thank you for putting me at ease!

I know right! I can't believe they don't give aftercare instructions and tell you what to expect after. I was scared when I saw the weird looking discharge. Good thing for google and people sharing thier experiences.

I just had Colposcopy done 4 days ago. Super uncomfortable. I have never had an abnormal pap, I saw a new young female doctor for the first time, I thought it was strange that it came back abnormal and they told me I needed this procedure done. of course I was worried sick about the whole thing. after the procedure she just told me I would see coffee ground type of discharge. I did see that, but then these quarter sized hard lumps (I'm guessing is tissue) started coming out. Thank god for this forum. I have passed two so far. I am so ready for this to be over with. My results came back completely normal. I will never have one done again!! if I have another pap come back normal I'm going to tell them just to repeat the paper in a few months. This whole thing brought so much worrying, and stress. Not to mention how disgusting the after math is!!!!! thank you all for sharing! Now I know I'm not dying

I've had a cervical biopsy on Thursday, he said everything looked ok and I was ok to do my iui artificial insemination Saturday. I stop bleeding and having tissue discharge Friday morning. After my iui I started to experience cramps and on Tuesday I started to spot again is this normal or should I go to the doctor.
