I'm very scared and confused.
My pap smear test results came back abnormal and my doctor scheduled me for colposcopy next week. But, I had hysterectomy and they are saying that they cannot do a biopsy on only one ovary!
I remember that the last time I had a colposcopy was when I had all my biopsies for the cervical cancer.
I asked a nurse about that and she told cells are "abnormal, not cancerous", but I'm not convinced at all.
Has anyone had any experience with this? Does this mean I have a cancer? I would really appreciate some advice.

Hi, Lora.
It’s highly unlikely that you have cancer. If you had regular exams, probably it is an early stage of dysplasia. But, this is only if your pap smear is abnormal. Results are often “false positive” so don’t jump with conclusions.
I know this is easier said than done, but please try not to worry about it too much. You will probably need one more pap. Wait until the results come back.
Sometimes, radiation can cause an abnormal pap as can inflammation or infection.
Only if another biopsy shows recurring cervical dysplasia, you will need colposcopy.
Take care
