Almost a week since embolisation - just north of Sydney in Australia. The interventional radiologist Dr was great - 20+ years experience. Only local pain relief, no twilight, through the groin not the neck. Minor sting for local anesthetic in the beginning then no more pain. Just looked at the screen and chatted with Doc. Was very interesting seeing the iodine show the veins, and seeing the clot stopping flow. Five days later and no pain at all. First couple of days there seemed to be very minor pains but so minor they could have been an invention in my head. Went surfing four days after (yesterday) and it was fine. Ever since the surgery balls have seemed a lot smaller. I suppose they are cooler now so don't have to hang low to try and cool down. The my tend to be held closer to the body now. Sexual activity three times from three days after, one being a wet dream. Seems like it increases libido but that could also be an invention in my head, a self fulfilling prophecy so to speak. 36 years old and haven't been this verile since twenties. Hoping to get wife pregnant in three months (I've read that that's how long it takes for the new sperm to grow). At the moment I highly recommended the varicocele embolisation.

I just posted a moment ago - just thought I'd add details about the costs in Australia. I had it done at PRP in Erina, and I don't have private health insurance. Only $200 out of pocket, Medicare covers the rest ($2140).

Anyone here with varicocele and testicle problems? I had embolization done but didn't help. They said to me I will now have pain for years. Can I do anything about it?

Sorry to hear you’re still in pain. I was just diagnosed by my urologist with a grade 3 isolated right sided Vericocele which I understand is very rare (only 1%of cases). I have pain in my right testicle which radiates up into my abdomen. Will need to get abdominal ultrasound to identify if there might be a tumor causing blockage. I’ve heard that right sided Vericocele embolization can be difficult due to the angle of the right testicular vein.Has anyone else out there gone through this and can tell me how it worked out for you? Thanks.
