I'm 26 years old and i have a vericose vien in my scrotum. I don't have any pain or problems now, but can I expect problems in the future? Are problems in the future generally the norm? If so what are they and what are some prevention methods? Can it be treated? What are the procedures and risks? I would like to not have a vericose vien, but would removal affect my reproductive organs?

It is not unusual for men to develop a varicose vein in the left scrotum. The "plumbing" of the vein on that side lends itself to this. About 10 percent of all men will have some form of this condition.

However, most do no impact reproduction or fertility.

It is important to keep the sperm cool, and the hanging of the testicles helps to assure this. A varicose vein can affect this, but considering the other side is normal, you have nothing to worry about.

The is no "cure" or "prevention" or "cause". You have don't nothing wrong.
It is true that if the vein is extremely large, causing pain or fertility issues, that surgery can be performed to remove/reduce the vein... but it is not normally done.

The only way to determine this is to have an examination by your doctor or a urologist.

Good luck. Don't worry.
