Way to go, Joeblow79! Since the antibiotics seem to be helping, it sounds like your problem is likely bacteria-related. Keep taking the antibiotics as prescribed, and, if the symptoms start to come back after you're done with them, go back and make them give you some more (more of the same, possibly at a higher dose, or of a more powerful type). It can take a lot longer than the 10-15 days they initially give you, especially if you have been infected for a long time, since the bacteria can be nestled way down inside your prostate and epidydimis, where it's hard to reach by the antibiotics. It would be good to massage your epidydimis (which you can do yourself) and your prostate (which your GP would need to do for you, or maybe you have a very understanding and/or adventurous girlfriend), to make sure the antibiotic is getting to all of the bacteria. A prostate massage is done like a normal prostate exam, with the addition of pressing on the prostate, from the outside in, to push the "juice" in it into and up your urethra, where you can pass it, and giving the antibiotics some room to work. I did this twice per week for 4 weeks with my GP, while taking the antibiotic Floxin, and it worked. After it was over, my GP said that he thought I was a nice guy, and he was glad that my pain was gone, but that he really didn't want to know me that well. :-)

Have any of you looked into the possibillity of 'Blue Balls'
‘Blue balls’ of love
Sexual arousal that does not terminate in ejaculation can cause congestion in the sperm carrying tubes, resulting in a dull aching sensation in the testicle. This is sometimes referred to as ‘blue balls’, which is inconvenient but entirely harmless. The pain disappears within a few hours anyway, although some men relieve the discomfort through masturbation.
I have had the same problem and went searching away on the internet. I'd always heard of this but never knew exactly what it entailed, and now that I do, it seems likely considering it generally only occurs after an intense erection not followed by ejaculation. That may just be me though.

Chaps,
This problem can occur if when either masterbating or having sex you stop the flow of sperm.
Say for instance you are at the point of ejaculation, and you then press on the tip of your penis to stop the flow of sperm. This will cause a back log of sperm resulting in acute infections especially in the testicular tubes.

I'm having the same exact problem with my left testicle. It continues to hurt and its not a sharp pain... just a dull and uncomfortable pain. HELP??

I too have been experiencing the following symptoms:
-Dull pain in the left testis
-Swollen Vas deferens
-Discomfort in the thighs and lower legs/burning sensation
-Abdominal and lower back pain
-Lack of energy/weakness
-At times purple coloration of the testes
-Constant feeling of urination/constipation
I have been dealing with this problem for about 9 months. I saw a doctor about 3 months ago and he gave me some blood tests and urine tests. All of my blood tests and urine tests came back negative for anything. My doctor then gave me some medication for epididimytis. This did not help.
I have not been back to a doctor and after reading this thread I'm not sure if that will even help. I am going to try a few of the methods recommended in this thread and see if that helps. If not then I will go back to the doctor.
I'll post back if I come up with anything. The fact that this thread was started over a year ago and nobody has posted a solid diagnosis or treatment for this problem is very disconcerting.
Good luck all.

I have the same symptoms as most of these posts.
The doctor has diagnosed a hernia and is 100% confident that all my other symptoms are as a result - pain in leg, stomach, swollen vas deferens and other discomfort.
He has said to rest and be careful with lifting and heavy exercise. Also advisable is a high fibre diet and water to avoid constipation (and the need to 'push').
At the moment he doesn't think surgery is needed but it may later.
Hopefully this will help.
If you have avoided seeing the doctor -for understandable reasons and fears - just go and get a proper diagnosis.

I can't believe all the guys who have been experiencing the same thing and for so long! I myself can relate to mostly the symptoms described here by bcart except for the lack of energy and discoloration. About 8 years ago I asked my doctor's Nurse Practioner to take a look at my scrotum, because I had felt a soft lumpiness in the vas deferens of my left teste. He said he didn't know what it was, but yeah, it did feel "ropy". It just seems to make the left more sensitive, especially when a lady takes it in her mouth, doesn't bother all the time, but it can by quite achy. Usually if i touch or gently squeeze it, it doesn't bother me, but today, I did and it felt like I'd been kicked in the balls and like I was going to vomit. I have had chlamydia and what i suspected was epididymitis and I wouldn't say this is it. It's a dull ache that seems to radiate, like many have described, legs, groin, lower back and abdomen. I suspect a hernia, myself.

for me the pain is mostly in my vas defs and lower ab waist line. like where my pants sit. usually starts in my left side, then i get it in both, also feels like i have a fever and sweating. i have noticed that i get the pain after being "teased" i thought it was "blue balls' but it cant be this painfull. i have also been to the doc and the cant figure it out. walking with this pain is really painfull. i found out that two T3's or a few ibuprofen works for a few hours enought to fall asleep, and when i wake up the pain is pretty much gone. it sucks that there is no doc's or any one that went to school for this stuff come on here and helps us out.

Something like this happened to me earlier this year.
I was in the shower and I must have hit something I shouldn't have because I almost fainted after it happened.
For a few weeks I had this pain along my right crotch area. And it extended down below my right testicle.
For a few days after wards, I was dizzy and lightheaded.
I kept expecting it to get better and it did VERY SLOWLY.
The pain went away extremely slowly. And then a couple weeks ago, as I was thinking I was finally over WHATEVER I DID to myself, a bike helmet hit me on my right testicle.
Even when I adjust my penis I hurt. The groin pain has gone away for the most part, but my right testicle still hurts me.
When I do heavy lifting or hard work it comes back.
I don't have health insurance, and for now, haven't told my family about this problem.
The pain seemed to have subsided, and then I couldn't believe how unlucky I was bumping into the bike helmet.
I'm a new member here. THIS HAS BEEN SO ANNOYING!
Why would feeling a certain part of your scrotum or testicle area cause pain like that?
As I type this right now, if I sit forward my right testicle aches a little.
If I lean back it doesn't.
When this first happened, my right teste would hurt when I got up from sitting, or when I sat down at all.
But that doesn't happen as much now.
Sometimes I think the pain is really going away completely, and then it comes back a little.
I think I'll be ok, and the pain will go away, I don't think anything is seriously wrong with me. Just FRUSTRATED that the ache is still there!

Hi everyone, I've been suffering from pretty much the same problem for the last 4 months or so and I have to say it is reassuring to at least find I'm not the only one with this! I don't know if it has already been mentioned on here but thought I should share some information I have found about a relatively rare condition called Pudendal Neuropathy or Pudendal Nerve Entrapment.
Here is a very informative link:
http://www.tipna.org/faq/IntroductoryFAQ.htm
I have not been officially diagnosed with this as yet but from reading the list of symptoms I am pretty sure that this is what I am suffering from. It is also sometimes known as 'Cyclist's Syndrome' and I am pretty sure that my case was brought on from excessive biking with a very uncomfortable seat.
My problem is that my right vas deferens (the tube connecting my testacle to my body) is often very painful and at times will swell mildly. This is usually more uncomfortable when sitting but standing or lying down for a while will often relieve me of the pain. I also sometimes get pain down the side of my inner right thigh and mild pain around my perineum. PNE seems to be a very difficult condition to diagnose as the pain is usually found in areas that are not actually specifically causing the problem.
Anyway, I hope this helps some of you, especially those who are long term sufferers. I'm going to find a urologist who knows of this particular condition and if not then hopefully I can educate them on it and get some help!
Thanks

I came to this site because I was in the same situation as all these other guys. I had urine, blood test, CT scan and three weeks later and allot of pain and suffering and the urologist, I finally found a doctor and as it turns out it took a female to diagnose me. Its prostitits and I also had Epididymitis if you research these you’ll find out what they are, but I was prescribed antibiotics, 800mg Motrin, and flomax also pain pills. It takes up to 3 months on the antibiotics and probably lifetime on flomax, and also Motrin as needed she also told me to wear jockstrap or tighty whities and sit on a doughnut or I prefer a neck pillow so the balls can hang freely.
I had good days and bad through the months on antibiotics but all of a sudden one day realized the pain and swelling was gone. I have learned that more guys suffer from the same thing but we as guys and our jewels don’t talk about it.
