I also have a extra vertebrae and had major back pain. I have seen many experts to find no way of fixing this problem. They only medicate me, I also am only 4ft. 11 inches so this adds to the discomfort. Would love to know of any way to to help this problem.

I had a really good massage therapist that would actually manipulate my sacrum back into place. I've been dealing with since I was 18. My uterus is tilted backward, so I don't know if that's why my sacrum goes out of whack? It's frustrating!! I can't lift much because of this. My core is strong, I am strong & it sucks. I don't know what else to do. I'm 41 now.

I got one too, and back pain also. I am also a doctor. 1. My first recomendation "Get use to it". 2.) Swiming is the best ,helps to make stronger your back musles. 3. A good bed, 4. When the pain is to strong hotwater in the shower, 4.) Dont carry heavy things, 5.) Control your weight (thats is dificult for me) 6.)Good luck

I also have an extra vertebrae and also live in constant pain. It began as a child having to do sit ups & so on on a wood gym floor. My tail bone would bleed. My parents took me to our family Dr. who thought I was faking. I never knew I had the extra tail bone until I was 49. Then I was told they could do nothing, so I live on pain pills and I have lived 56 years with this pain that they keep saying shouldn't cause pain? You can hear my spine everytime I move side to side it grinds. If anyone has any answers please help. I had a horse and everytime I would come in from riding my jeans would be soaked in blood from the rubbing, even sitting on a airplane makes me bleed! I was told I could have a implant put in as a pad? Again this would do nothing for my pain.

i got to tell yyou the doctors who are supossed to help are no help at all when they say well i dont think you should be in pain i get just as fed up with them as i do the pain and if it wernt for my kids and brand new grand kids i would end it all i really would im so tired of feeling worthless and in constant pain and all for my country that slapped me in the face when i got out well to hell with the va im still alive and i consider that a miracle in its self with all the painic attacks and depression and living in the dark like im wrong and thats what the doctors at the va made me feel like and when i proved that i had an extra vertabrae to the va and chronic back pain b4 i got outta the army they told me last year proove that im still in pain after i got out of the army what next why dont they just put a bullet in our heads it would be alot more humane than the doughts or so called doughts they have im so fed up.

I too have an extra lumbar Vertebra. Mine is half fused with the sacrum and thus has an odd tilt to it. When I was born the lower parts of my legs were turned backwards, over time they straightened but i still have a noticeable tilt n -my left leg inward. This makes my posture poor and after extended amounts of time in any position I suffer from incredible pain. I literally can't move and have to get help from someone to move my leg out of it....I believe a nerve is being pinched but..like what others have said, so many doctors have said nothing is wrong. One doctor, after another X-ray, held a bemused look on his facem "Oh! No wonder..." How the hell do you miss that the first billion times? I also have resentments and bitterness towards them but..I can't heal this on my own. I can't hold a job without the pain getting in the way regardless of how extensive I try to..work around the issue....craft things to help me with the job to keep from stooping and bending over...(stocking and what not). I'm at a loss....I am 21 years old and I have more pain than the average 45 year old...I hate it...makes me feel like a failure to not be able to work as hard as the others. It's depressing...I need something done. Not only to rid or lessen this pain..but for psychological needs as well.....

I have gotten injections into my spine..subdural....that helped but it, of course, isn't long term.

I have had a stress fracture in my L5, pinched nerve from a drum line incident, and the twisted l 6 vertebra....it's ridiculous..and even with the physical therapy...i've gotten no relief..its progressively getting worse and i don't know where to turn....21 Female and I feel as useless as a soiled towel.....
