When I was 10 I was diagnosed with Scoliosis. After going in for my 6 mth xray at the age of 15 my mother was told if it got any worse I would need to use a brace. So my mother took my to a chiropractor for a second opinion at which tim we where informed that one of the discs in my lower lumbar region formed without the nucleus pulposus. Which would explain my back pain. With proper posture and regular excercise and the brace was never needed and I didn't have anymore problems with my back until my first son was born. When my son was 1 1/2 I was diagnosed with 2 slipped discs and one ruptured. My doctor felt that surgery was not an option because I was only 23 at the time. After returning to the chiropractor, changing jobs and therapy I was "better". That was until last summer when I started having lower back pain and abdominal pain. my doctor order an MRI. I was then told that I only had one slightly bulging disk in my lower spine and was not told where. I was in such shock that I didn't think to ask. It was later found that my gallbladder was failing and that solved the pain. But now I am left wondering if it is possible for my back to heal. I had seen the original MRI and was shown where all the problems were but have not seen the new ones. Is this possible and has anyone ever heard of a person being born without nucleus pulposus?
