I have exactly the same symptoms as all the other posts except for one very important fact. I am 39 yrs old and had a full hysterectomy 10 years ago. There is no way I am pregnant or having elevated hormones or milk production. I noticed before i got in the shower that it looked like someone took a green marker and traced the vein underneath one of my breasts up to my chest and down around the other breast. I have no idea what is going on but one of my breast does seem slightly sore, nothing I can put my finger on. I did breast feed both of my children and almost feels like engorgement is setting in but of course that's totally impossible.

The same thing just happened to me today while I was in a dressing room trying on clothes.  I had to take a double look.  At first, I thought it might be the lighting but then I realized that it was not.  I had dark blue thick veins going through my breasts, chest, and into my shoulders.  It scared the c**p out of me but when I got home, about three hours later, they disappeared.  I have just a faint vein running through one of my breasts.  I would like to know what brought this on if anyone might have some information.

I have chronic low levels of CO2 but im told its okay..im starting to suspect for me at least that the cause is CNS dysregulation which Ive been told I have evoked by something in the environment or as odd as it sounds, increased solar radiation.honestly I feel as though my body is mutating haha

Did you also have your period during all of this too? This sounds all too familiar, I'm in the same situation now.

Hi Everyone,

I have the same issue as most of you. Maybe two months ago, I first noticed that I had very prominent bluish veins showing mainly on my upper chest and into the shoulder region.  However, pregnancy isn't an issue for me, as I'm a 48-year old man.  Are there any other men out there, preferably middle aged like me, who also have noticed veins like these? If so, has anybody seen a doctor about it and what did the doc say about it?

Thanks in advance,

Terry

I have had my veins showing in my upper chest and arms since I was a little girl. When I had my first daughter the "drug" doctor asked if I had vein issues before the spine tap during labor. That was 6 years ago. Yesterday I lifted some weights and today there is slight swelling above my breast and it looks like someone drew with a marker from my wrists up my arms and across my chest. They are sooo bright. I'm supposed to have a biopsy on my cervix next month and with this now happening I'm alittle freaked out. Any advice would be helpful.

This just happened to me.  Very dark veins down my sides, on my arms and breasts.  I don't normally look things like this up online but it was kind of scary.  I've never noticed it before but thought it might be related to the fact that I just started the patch (birth control hormones) a couple weeks ago.

I can't be sure what caused it but I started moving around to get my blood flowing and it went away.  I did very simple yoga moves and push-ups for two minutes and that was enough.

This sound alot like me. When I was getting the shower I noticed Dark blue viens showing through my kin all over me. I am very pale but my veins have never looked like that. They vere very dark circles around my nipple that led to other veuins that branched out over my whole body. Now the thing is, I'm 14, going on 15 and I am a hardcore athlete, so I have gotten periods before but only 3 in the past 2 1/2 years. I talked to my dcotor and he said it wasa normal for younger female athletes. Now I hae never had sexual intercoure ever in my life, and don't plan to for a long time, so this obviously shouldn't have something to do with prenancy. Any idea what it could be?

I just noticed the same thing. My veins are so prominent that I can see how they intersect. It wasn't like this last week, but my cycle started. I don't know how it's tied, but I believe it has something to do with it. I also exercise regularly and my veins can usually be seen on my hands and arms (sometimes).

I had the same bright blue veins only on the left side of my chest and down the arm. Went to my family physician today and he IMMEDIATELY referred me to a Cardiovascular Surgeon for an evaluation and possible surgery. He said this is caused when there is a blockage in the arteries and it could be something very dangerous and i also have very high blood pressurefor some reason, 142/126 daily, which is also in stroke range. If i were you guys i would asked to be referred . I am a 33 year old woman,119lb, and with a hysterectomy. I don't know what went wrong. Will keep this updated with any new info.

But wouldn't you think that after four months of no period, you would be pregnant?

I'm fair skinned as well, (extremely so) so my veins are always SORT of visible, but sometimes they're DISTINCTLY darker. Sharpy dark :$. I've panicked over it off and on to varying degrees for the last few years, and finally I think I've found the answer. Dehydration. even just slightly. Sounds too easy, I know, but look up the two together, you'll see a strong correlation. More importantly ask yourself if you currently drink enough water, and if you don't, up the intake! ( you should probably just do it either way, pumping water is good for virtually everything, just saying) Anywho, next time this is acting up, make a conscious effort to really really pound water. depending on how dehydrated you are your veins might look wonky for a bit yet but in a matter of hours you'll see great improvement if it doesn't go away entirely. Once I learned this, it occurred to me this does seem to happen more often in Summer (unfortunately, what with that being the worst time of year for your organs to seemingly start shining through..) which makes sense now. So MIO it, chill it, ice it, throw a wedge of lime in there, do what you gotta do to down that H2O!!!! Yay prevention!
