Hi, I have a vestibular dysfunction, and I must do something about it. I am sick and tired of having vertigo so often, and I am considering a surgery. Has anybody been in the same situation?

Hi, I was operated last summer because of the vestibular dysfunction. Medical treatment didn’t work for me, so I didn’t have an option, but to have a surgery. It was important not only to save my hearing, but also to relive vertigo and dizziness. I became anxious, and I was rarely getting out of the house. I can’t say that I was like a completely new person after that surgery, but my symptoms were relieved. At least, I could continue normally with my life. Beside these symptoms, I had unsteadiness with walking too, and this is actually what I heated most. Vestibular dysfunction can also be treated with a vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) program. I know some people who were really satisfied with it.

I too have been dizzy for a year and a half. I had to go on disability retirement and would love to hear from folks in terms of what works for recovery (is it years of VRT....do the surgeries help or are there risks of permanent damage done with surgery???...what kind of surgery works???
Would love feedback.
