Anyone here know anything about this? I was recently diagnosed with this, and recently had surgery. I am cancer free FOR NOW, but the reacurrences for this type of cancer I have read is 50% is this true? I have developed Hemoriods is this normal? Also, the doctor used dissolvable stitches and it has been a month and stitches are still there!! Is this normal too? I am afraid to let my doctor take them off since the purpose of them is to fall on thier own...

Hi there! Do you know what cancer stage you were in? What kind of surgery did you have and what was removed during the surgery? Were your glands removed as well?
As for the recurrence, I can’t say what the rate is but I heard that it is not uncommon and that it may appear in the near by area but also in a distant area, so you need to be really careful and have regular follow-ups.
How are you feeling in general? How are you coping? I know it’s hard for you, do you have anybody to talk to?
As for the stitches, I know that it happens sometimes that they don’t dissolve. I don’t think it is such a big deal if they hadn’t. If your surgeon thinks they should be removed, why not?

I also had the surgery it really helps to soak in a sitz bath, did they tell u to do that? My stiched were removed also mine had spread to the lymph nodes.
