Yes I'm a 46 year old female, and I have a question about Adderall xr, I'm 5'3 and have always weighed between 100 and 110 pounds which I love and love the way I look. A year ago I started gaining weight the dr has done blood test checking thyroid and every blood test you can think of. 2 months ago I went for my drs. visit and weighed 140 pounds, I haven't weighed that in 16 years and that's when I was pregnant I weighed 100 -pounds when I got pregnant and gained 40 pounds after I delivered I was back in my regular clothes and back down to my regular size within a week. So this really depresses me. I talked to my dr about it and he prescribed me Phenermine 37.5 mg I took it for a month went back to the dr. and only lost 6 pounds and I exercise 5 to 6 times a week. I was really disappointed because Ive had friends that have lost 20 pounds in a month. So next visit he prescribed Adderall xr 25 mg I have been on that for 14 days and I've only lost 4 more pounds everybody says you don't have appetite with this and it gives you energy. I don't understand I want to be back to my original size and wonder why nothing works for me I eat healthy and do not eat between meals and drink lots of water. What could be my problem?

I can tell you first off as an Adderall taker myself that it SHOULD NOT be taken just to lose weight. Im a 5'10, 19 yr old male and been on Adderall for several years now. Last year things got out of control. I developed a serious eating disorder and saw my weight go from 140 lbs to 113 in a few months. I looked like a skeleton. Over the summer when school was out I came off of it and gained 40 lbs in 2 weeks. The worst two weeks of my entire life. So moral of the story is whatever weight you lose on Adderall will this be gained back + some when you come off of it. If you keep doing what you're doing (exercising 5-6 times a week, including cardio and weights, eating clean and often, like 6 small meals a day, drinking lots of water, and getting in plenty of sleep) you will get results. You didn't just gain weight overnight so you can't just lose it overnight either. Be patient, and good luck to you
