Hi Alison81, just wanted to let you know that it really could (and probably is) cervical/spine issues from the accident. Not that there may not have been issues with that region prior to that, but it definitely made it what it is now. I recommend you see a Chiropractor, he will adjust whatever got out of place. I met with one and he said he had a patient with the same symptoms, after a car accident (like us, side impact), and she started treatment a week after her car accident and is all better now (vs. my situation of 3+years). So for whatever reason that didn't show up on my x-rays back then, I will never know, am extremely pissed, and probably all the secondary health issues are because of getting treated for everything but what was really wrong. I really hope this helps; honestly, if anything, out of the hell I went through, if my story can help someone, it'd be worth it.

And completely agree with everything you said in the second post. You literally have to play doctor to figure your health issues out. It's ridiculous. I mean, to the point of figuring out your own test results? That's hard sh*t. I don't know why they don't tell you stuff like that; what they could possibly get out of it. I love your positivity and determination though; any advice/tips on starting the gluten free diet? (Sometimes it's easier to hear from someone that went through it opposed to the endless information online). Really appreciate it, wish you well.

Hi, I have just sen your post and I would ask for a B12 test, all the symptoms that you are displaying could be associated with a deficiency - you can find more information on the website below.  I was eventually diagnosed in 1997 and now have regular injections, still get symptoms from time to time when levels drop but I am so glad one Dr eventually referred me and I now know what it is.

Please go to a Lyme Literate doctor and get checked for Lyme disease & Bartonella. I think the car accident set-off the Lyme or Bartonella.

I have had similar symptoms for years.
A strict candida diet helps me. As posted earlier, excluding gluten for a while wouldn't hurt. You can determine if you are sensitive to it.
Do you have any silver (amalgam) fillings?

Maybe simple as tension - related to your deppression - maybe you need to do some relaxation type therapy - what ever you think you might like - suggestions; float chamber, Yoga, Tai Chi, Chi Kung, acupuncture (yes I think you can get acupuncture to releive tension - check) proper massage (chinese ? - someone who has studied for at least a couple of years - check for decent qualifications anyway not just a couple of months part time) maybe even a good physiotherapist and finally (indian ?) head massage (but again check what the best qualifications are so you know what a good one should have) good luck and relax !

Update on my condition:

-"Vertigo"/neck pain is pretty much gone after 4+ months of adjustments with the Chiropractor--which is good BUT other symptoms have gotten worse and new ones have developed:

-sensitivity to literally everything I eat (inflammation?), medications/OTC, supplements, as well as dental procedures (week long flu like symptoms after amalgam filling; 3 separate times)

-pain in lower back, and leg; pulsating sort of sharp; left side only (constant)

-blurry vision, sensitivity to light, sounds, crowds (stores, etc.)

-brain fog is worse, along with irritability; just can't think at all; feel like im not in control of my emotions

-can't fall asleep

Probably forgetting something, I don't know anymore. Don't feel real. Making it through the days..for what? No quality of life. Going for more testing tomorrow with an allergist/immunologist.

Thank you for providing an update!  Many people forget about their threads, and then someone like me comes along curious if there has been any resolution, only to be left wondering.  I'm sorry to hear that things have not gotten better for you, hopefully you will find an answer soon.  I stumbled across this thread because I, too, have been dealing with dizziness/vertigo/lightheadedness for some time now.  It started with mild occasional lightheadedness last summer, then became constant from October through March of this year.  It seemed to have gone away for the last couple of months, but it's back again.  I also am having depersonalization, fatigue, numbness (back of hands and right side of face), along with a host of other symptoms that may/may not be related.  I had an MRI, cortisol test, CT scan of my sinuses - all negative.  No real bloodwork to speak of, nor have I seen an ENT.  My doctor's office has been less than helpful with this...they have already thrown their hands up, but I don't feel as though I've had nearly enough testing done to be written off as a hopeless case.

Anyway, keep us posted on how things are going for you...I'm sure there are many others following this thread in the hopes that you can find your answers!

I know is going to sound weird... but I had the same issue.  I started feeling really weird and sick with brain zap's, neck was killing me, blurry vision and all sorts of other weird pains that made me feel like I had other symptoms involved. Now the only guy I didn't see was an eye Dr.... I should of went to him first since I had blurry vision..whoops!! Voila!! after an hour talking  to him he told me I had 1 eye that was about 120% over and the other was normal at 100%.. Regular Dr's don't have the skill to know how the eye works and the pain it brings to the body when nerves are unbalanced... I got glasses and I couldn't believe that after everything I been thru for so long that this was the case..He said if your eye's are unbalanced you will start with blurry vision.. by not fixing it after a few years your body will drive it's pain or frustration in other parts down the nerve system.. it's all connected.. and by the way. I had Anxiety and Panic.. Dr's don't tell you this either.. not wearing glasses and having your eye's forcing to much.. will lead to palpitation and panic.. because it freaks out. Anyway after 19 years... LOL everything is gone.. because I didn't listen to my body when I first got blurry vision ..it was on and off for about 30 seconds each time.. I didn't think much of it.. Good luck :p

Hey guys..another update, sort of. Got my blood work results in today from the Immunologist; nothing but low Vitamin D level and a nut allergy..both of which I was aware of. It's not a consistent part of my diet so I'm a little dissapointed that they didn't find anything metabolic related, but I guess there isn't anything else they can do. My last option was to go to a hormone specialist but I don't know if I want to put myself through this stress all over again, only to find out everything's "fine". I don't know what to do anymore at this point. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated:/

Kira,
It sounds like you may be having problems with anxiety/depression. I am a very anxious person and often have these symptoms. I go to therapy and I am not on medicine but some doctors will recommend medicine for a short while.

So I've been going to the chiropractor for 9/10 months now..twice a week..I guess this is as good as its gonna get. It's a lot better than when I began but I still get very bad neck pain/tense upper back most days. The other thing is right after I eat, and the entire day/days after, depending on what it is, I get that blurry vision/weird head fog feeling. It's pretty bad now. I don't eat until I get home from work because of how sick and "not there" it makes me. If anyone knows what can be causing this, or what the root issue could be, please share. Thank you.

I am having very similar symptoms and have been diagnosed with concussion and then later with post concussive syndrome and I sometimes feel like I am autistic ( not to offend anyone out there with autism). I truly feel like I cannot control what is happening to me and it is utterly frustrating. My memory has also been effected, especially my short term memory. My friends actually think I'm joking when I cannot process simple things because I was previously a viable candidate for Ivey Law schools and and now I am struggling to pay my bills. We have gotten eviction and shut off notices every month since the accident. I'm embarrassed to tell people because people look at me and think I'm lying because I look normal but I literally feel like humpty dumpty but I'm still struggling to put myself back together. The light at the end of the tunnel is that when I was diagnosed at the ER with post concussive syndrome, I was told that the symptoms will eventually get better, it is just a waiting game of months to years. The best thing for you to do is find the best neurologist you can, someone who specializes in post-accident recovery. Keep a detailed daily journal of what is going on and how it is affecting your life. I really hope things get better, stay strong and healthy. The Vitamin D is normal for women. Please goto neurologist and if they do not give you the answers to what you are seeking, get a second, third or fourth opinion. I truly wish you the best and know what your going through, my life is totally changed and I feel at times like my brain is delayed. My speech was even slurred for a short time and same as you, all tests came back as normal.
