Hello! I have a problem with bloating on the right side of my belly. I can actually see it and feel it with my hand. It's the size of a hand and when I empty my bowel, it usually goes away except for the tight lump on the right side. Sometimes it hurts, especially when I sit. I also have few swollen lymph nodes at my groin. I have lost weight (5kg) and feel sick, feel nauseus sometimes. Ultrasound showed free fluid and enlarged intestines in my small bowel. I am currently waiting for my MRI, but I am very worried and afraid that it is something serious:( Do you have any thoughts or experiences? What should I expect, my doctor didn't talk much... Sorry for my bad english... A.

Hello, A.

Don't worry, your English is just fine. ;)

I understand your concerns, and it's natural to feel anxious while waiting for further medical evaluation. The symptoms you're describing – bloating in a specific area of your belly, changes in bowel habits, discomfort, swollen lymph nodes in the groin, weight loss, and nausea – can have various causes. The ultrasound findings of free fluid and enlarged intestines in your small bowel are significant and warrant further investigation, which is what the MRI aims to do.

The MRI will provide more detailed images of your abdominal and pelvic area. This can help in identifying any abnormalities in the intestines, other abdominal organs, and structures. It's a crucial step in understanding what might be causing your symptoms.

While waiting for your MRI results, it may help to focus on maintaining a balanced diet and staying hydrated. Sometimes, dietary adjustments can alleviate symptoms like bloating and discomfort, though they're not a solution to underlying medical issues.

It's also important to monitor your symptoms. If you notice any new symptoms or a significant worsening of your current symptoms, it's important to seek medical attention.

I know it's a stressful time, but try to take care of your overall well-being, including managing stress and getting enough rest. These factors can also impact your digestive health and general feeling of wellness. Once you have your MRI results, your doctor will be able to provide more specific information and guidance based on those findings.
