I started a running program on 2/20 with the goal of running for 1 hour straight and then I wanted to increase the incline on the treadmill and still run 1 hour straight. I will outline my runs and was hoping you could tell me what to do next.
*All of the runs below have a 5 min warm-up and 5 min cool down walk included in the time
2/20- run 2 min walk 2 mins...dist/pace/time..2.35mi/12:45/30
2/22-run 3 min walk 2 mins...2.36/12:42/30
2/24-run 3 walk 2...2.42/12:23/30
2/26-run 3 walk 2...2.53/11:51/30
3/1-run 4 walk 2...2.89/11:04/32
3/2-run 4 walk 2...2.9/11:02/32
3/3-run 4 walk 2...3.0/10:40/32
I have taken Saturdays totally off and do the elliptical machine for 30 mins on days I don't run. My plan is to run every other day b/c I heard that was best in the beginning but I broke that on march 1-3 and was planning on going back to every other day if that is best.
Another thing I am slightly sore in my left shin for the past 2 days and I also but good running shoes from a real running store when I started
What should I do next in your opinion? Should I bump it to 5 run 2 walk or something else? Thanks so much for your help!! Charlie
