My doctor prescribed me diclofenac for my sore arm, he had prescribed me naproxen before for similar condition, I know they are both nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs; but can anyone tell me what is the difference between them?

They are both chemically different NSAIDs, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Diclofenac is the stronger analgesic. Although naproxen is now sold over the counter in some period pain preparations, doctors rarely use it to deal with pain, concentrating on using it for it's anti-inflammatory properties. Diclofenac though a good anti-inflammatory is used more as a pain killer.
