I am 18 years old and have had many different health issues. From a cyst on my kidney, to what could have turned into serious kidney disease, constantly suffering migraines, thyroids, and January 4th was the scare of my life.
I went to Cheo to close my case for my kidneys, and did one final blood work. Finishing the blood work, I was about to leave when I started getting extremely dizzy. I had past out. Finally waking up, not thinking anything other then I passed out, they made me lie down and drink some juice because my body could have been in shock. Altough I get blood work every 6 months now and never had the issue.
My mom came into the room, having 20 minutes pass by, the nurse explained I passed out. Not only did I pass out, but I lost control of my bladder as well. My mom freaking, explained my history with my health and had explained last time this happened I had a seizure. To both our surprise, the nurse informed us I had some convultions. (Sorry if my spelling isn't right). We went over to emergency, where they did and EEG. Apparently nothing was wrong.
Since then, for a good two weeks, I had no energy and was always tired. If I actually layed down, I would be able to fall asleep. Eventually my mom got worried thinking it wasn't normal and called my doctor. When we went to see my doctor, she orderd a catscan. Although when we got the call confirming my appointment, they changed it to an MRI. Truth was, the MRI was to check if I had any tumours. Although all signs were clear. But I was also told I wouldn't need to dye. But later on the tech came in and injected me with the dye. Finally we had gotten some results that I had abnormalities in my MRI.
We called my docotor but she didn't know anything, all she said was she had an idea but she can not explain because it is not in her feild. We waited quit some time to be refered to a neurologist, although the wait time was too long. My mom spoke to my doctor and she got me another neurologist. Finally we got some answers! YAY! We met with my neurologist, very kind and professional lady, and she had informed us the report only explained about some white spots. She answered all our questions and did some tests to see if it was MS. But I was clear from MS. Yay. Although, she made me do a blood pressure test sitting, standing and lying down. When I stood up, my blood pressure had dropped more then it should so she ordered a 48 hour EEG. Woopie -.-
Getting those results back, everything was fine, but coming May 20th, I have another appointment with my neurologist because now she has pictures of the MRI instead of only having the written report. I have not slept over 5 hours a night for two weeks night and have been blacking out freaquently and my memory is a little shot.
Another reason as to why I am seeing my neurologist sooner is due to having passed out on a trip twice and both arms were tingling. Let's just hope this problem has not gotten worse.

I am only 23 years old and my doctor told me I have spots on my brain. She didn't explain to me or anything. Should I be worried? I get really bad migraines, bursts of white in my vision, lightheadedness, and theres times where i almost faint. What should I do, my current doctor isn't going to do anything for it. This really scares the hell out of me. Should I get a 2nd opinion?
Hello, If i was you i would be getting a second opinion. Your Doctor should certainly be doing something for you. Get a second opinion.

Hey everyone and person above. I have always suffered from pain in my head and migraines. When Iwas 16 I requested an MRI but was told i'm a "hypochondriac" and shrugged off. 7 years later...I get random dizzyness out of no where for two days. Split second weird feeling. 3rd morning my dog crapped on the floor... I bent to clean it my daughter in the crib...everything normal laughing about the poop. Go to the kitchen sink and start washing my hands when all of a sudden I get EXTREMELY dizzy to where I can't hold my self up or walk straight. By the time I got to the phone to call 911 the whole left side of my body was paralyzed including my left corner of my mouth, talking was rough. Though, I was totally sane normal as ever like no slurred speech or not knowing where I was. I couldn't stand up at this point, my head was pounding, everything was dizzy, and still the paralysis through out the left side (still had feeling) anyway my CT SCAN was normal at the hospital. Symptoms lifted after about 2 hours and 30 minutes. Once dismissed I found it hard to type that night...after 2 days typing was normal again. Dizzy like a bowling ball was rolling in my head for about 2 weeks. Once I returned somewhat normal I still had sharp pain in my head (directly inthe middle of my brain it felt) as well as a migraine now and then. I seen a neurologists that basically shrugged his shoulders saying my ct scan was normal so...hopefully it doesn't happen again. And he said that I seem like an anxious person? hmm ya think? after all that's happened to me? I said I wanted an MRI which he said fine he guesses it's reasonable. Low and behold they find "SPOTS" on my brain near where I get my pain. go figure? So I wait a month for my appointment and again the neurologists shrugs me off. Says the spots aren't uncommon in people. that I should get on some stress pills. I told him since my paralysis episode I get pain in my elbows. He laughed and said he is not an elbow expert. I SWEAR to you people this is happening. i'm dizzy everyday, I get pain in my head. It seems no one cares I feel helpless and discouraged. He didn't even want to do an MRI I KNEW something was in my head before even getting it...and the results proved there is something there. That is not a coinsodence. I know my body, I know how I used to be and I'm no where near feeling how I used to. What kind of explaination is spots? is that the doctorial term? The man is a joke. Free health care yea, more like "free health" there is no care in it at all. Something is wrong and I wish a doctor would take the time to figure it out.PLEASE somebody help me. I just got this same diagnosis on yesterday and I am scared as HELL!!! My doctor only says he doesn't think it's MS, but he has not offered me any suggestions as to what it could be. I have headaches all the time. And suddenly, I feel the tingling. I can't accept that these spots just are there for no reason...SOMEBODY? ANYBODY?
Way too many times, the symptoms of Chiari Malformation are dismissed and a person being a hypochondriac. Not enough Drs are familiar with it, even neurosurgeons!!!!!!!
