About ten years ago I had to go to the ER because I felt my felt side tingling and numb.  Many tests were performed at the hospital but nothing was found and I was sent home.  A year ago,  the tingling and numbness came back.  I went to my primary Dr., who sent me to an neurologist, so a MRI was done.  The result shows 12 white spots on my brain.  He said that usually people with MS have this but that I should not worry because I did not have the usual systems of MS.  I didn't follow up or went for a second opinion.  Now, a year later, the symptoms are back.  I had another MRI and the white spots still there.  I feel pain on the left side of my forehead and my left eyes tingles all the time.  My left shoulder and arm also hurt.  I have made an appointment with another neurologist, but I have to wait a couple weeks to see him.  My worst fear of MS is to lose my memory and be in a wheel chair.  I have three kids and I am scared to death to leave them or not being there for them.  I don't want to complain to my husband or my kids about what I am feeling.  I don't think they would understand.

I dont get the headaches as the others but I do get the tingleing, and a lil at times over zealious amont of memory lose. Like I may have lived by a place for 8 yrs and its only 3 blocks up the street, yet I go to head to it and all the sudden my wires are not working. I totally forget where it is. and it scares the heck out of me. So have any of you done anything like that?

Hi, Im 23 and I have just discovered that I have white matter in my MRI brain scan. However I do not have the same symptoms that most people here are describing. There are no headaches or dizziness, but what I am suffering from is a form of twitching. Better described as losing consciousness for a split second. Some are more severe than others but when it is at its worst I often drop things that I am carrying and begin to collapse. My family has a history of MS(My grandpa had it) I don't know that these symptoms fall under MS but then again I am no doctor. Dont know why I posted this maybe somebody has an idea of whats going on?

I have had 3 mri's in the past 8 months and two spinal taps and they still cant tell me what is wrong with me . I was told that it still might be MS but he dont want to have me commit to the meds and that is not what it is . I still dont know what the white spots are and neither does the neurologist so I am back to square one and no one seems to care that I am suffering . I have to go every six months to get mri's so they can compare . This is some bull .com. I wish someone can tell me what is wrong.

I have MS, have had many of the complaints listed here over the years. Many people that are dx with MS have complaints for years before they get a positive result for MS. Ck out MS society and get on their threads and see your complaints listed there daily. At this time I still have complaints that "aren't typical of the dx of MS". Just because they are neuro doctors doesn't mean they have all the answers. It's c alled "PRACTICING MEDICINE" Please have the doctors test for lyme disease, it comes from a tick and mimics MS. More than half of MS patients have or have had lyme disease first. Again MS society web sights will be helpful

Hi,

My sister is 16 years old and doctors said she has MS because MRI shows that she has 2 white spots on her brain and 3 spots on her neck.

she did not has any of the diagnoses that you mentioned here , but the only things that lead to discover the disease is losing the vision and having pain on her left eye.

all fine now and she backed to normal, all happened 3 months back. today doctors said not its maybe Devic's not MS and request new other tests.

this was the first time we ever hear about rare disease called " MS" and now our life turned to be hell

Hello I am 41 and just had a MRI done on the brain in April of this year and they found white spots on the brain. My nureolgist was puzzled cause she said they don't see something like this at my age, only like someone over the age of 65. So she had me tested for MS all spinal work came back normal again puzzled so sent me to the Cleveland Clinic where thats all the study in is MS and was told I did not have it. Was tested for vascular diese that came back negative. Tested for diabetes that came back negative. I do have a flattened vertabrae c6 and c7 which was causing tingling in the left arm all the way down to the finger tips and very bad shoulder pain I couldn't even function anymore and on top of that had the dizziness. I battled with this for 2 years finally a month in a half ago I had surgery on my neck all the pain is gone but I'm still having the dizziness. My surgeon told just to relax and see if it goes away by the next visit which is in 2 weeks. So I feel for all of you. But not happy with all test results coming back negative cause I know something is wrong its not normal  to have white spots on the brain. hope you all find answers and good luck to you all

Not sure what they are. My husband also has them really bad. They need to do a spinal tap and they won't. The neuro dr says he dont need one. But the Myelin Sheath is gone from around the brain and he has white spots -- only a couple of things cause that. He also has sleep apena, narcolepsy, cataplexy, and REM Behavior Disorder at the age of 44. I would really hate for them to be MS or something worse and them not try to help him. He was paralyzed for 5 1/2 hrs and spent 4 days in the hospital, doing MRI's, EEG and they dont find anything. Drs are crazy.

Yes, visual squiggles, lighting bolts, sometimes black with what I call "cat eye", are common with migraines.

Namaste

i had developed some form of dizziness from the day 1 of 2013, felt really weak and on the verge of passing out but couldn't, felt as if i was in a swaying ship and felt very uneasy. Went to the ER a couple of times but my mental illness got the best out of it, had panic attacks and depression. now i can't even handle frustration of any form. As soon as i am stressed my heart starts to thump and i hyperventilate and things go haywire. i have to pop a Prozac on these occasions.

Did many tests haemogram, b12, liver function and what not. Had a MRI done today and there are two tiny white spots in my brain.

I am scared s*itless and sometimes feel hopeless as I am only 25 years old and have much to do with my life.

Have been stressed out heavily for the past decade ranging from erectile dysfunction to emotional roasting.

But are those tiny white spots in the MRI MS or can it be mere coincidence and nothing to worry about ?<<?. I live in India and judging by the reports MS is more prevalent in Caucasians and with a high chance in females.

I GUESS STRESS IS THE MAIN CAUSE OF THIS ILLNESS.

Someone please help.

I've had a headache 24/7 for the last 22 months with memory loss, dizzy spells, I get migraines 3 to 4 times a week, I have a hard time judging distances at night when I drive, I get lost a lot while driving plus if I look at something for a few seconds it either starts to swirl of it gets really fuzzy and I've lost a lot of feeling in my hands. I can reach into a hot oven and pull out a pan  and not feel it. Ya my fingers might blister, but it doesn't hurt. I'm always out of energy or I get tired or winded really fast. I'm on all kinds of meds like imetrex, maxalt, propranolol, amitriptyline, and Topamax but none of it seems to help. I also have developed high blood pressure and have been put on lisinopril 30mg. I've had 4 MRIs in the last year and they tell me that I have 3 spots on the right side of my brain. I've also had 31 botox shots in my head to try to help with the headaches with no result. No one tells me anything. any thoughts? Thanks
