I am 47, My neurologist one week ago said my white spots on my brain is brain damage (not reversible) from when my diabetes was out of control, which was about 4 yrs ago, but last four yrs has been controlled. But take care of your self so it doesn't get worse.

I hope by now you have received some kind of answer for your symptoms. I had similar issues the last two months. My neurologist did an MRI, and based on that and my medical history, thinks I have neuralgia. I'd take some time to look it up. Some of the symptoms can present like MS (pain, scalp sensations, limb tingling &/or numbness, etc), but it does not mean it is MS. I would talk to your doctor about neuralgia as a possibility if you have not already ruled it out.

hello, my name is corey. two weeks ago I had a bad headache. I then started having sharp pains around my right temple and became dizzy and blurred vision in my right eye and both eyes lids were twitching . my neck, back of my hands and face were tingly. i went to the er. they gave me a ct scan and said they found a light spot on one side if my brain and then ordered a mri but that came up inconclusive. they prescribed me an injection form of imitrex and sent me home. my headache and dizziness have been ever present since. my right kidney has developed alot of pain but the ER doc said my urinalysis came back fine. I have general anxiety disorder and ptsd. my doctor prescribed me xanax for my panic attacks and ketocanzanole shampoo for my dandruff but the Internet (not reliable) said they shouldn't be used together. not sure what to think.

The stuff I've been reading on behalf of my mother include autoimmune diseases can be connected to these white spots. She's lived with either lupus or hashimoto's for eons (she's 71 now) I read the lesions can be on the white brain tissue which is where brain signals travel (grey matter is more like storage that rely on the white matter to talk to various brain regions) She has some balance issues and she believes she has had a reduction in cognitive function. She still kicks my ass at problem solving though. Maybe I need a scan) While the lesions can be associated with MS that is by no means the only possibility. The mini strokes could be such that symptoms are not apparent. I don't know if it is an indication that more strikes are likely.
I am fascinated at how uninformative the doctors seem to be across most of the stories I've read. Not cool.
I am not in any way connected to medical fields. I'm just someone like all of you who is not getting answers from doctors. I hope each of you discover your brain lesions are in harmless locations, or that your brain has already been creating alternative routes to compensate for any interruption to typical brain function.
Don't be afraid to bring a list of questions to your doctor. If they don't know, they will have ideas of who to ask if they know your symptoms. If your doctor uses a patient/doctor e-mail system, send questions in advance so they can looked stuff up before your next appointment.
I've read that spinal taps can be useful in diagnosing some possible causes or results of the lesions.
Hang in there. Our bodies are bizarre systems and while the tiniest thing can kill us, bee sting for instance, there are seemingly huge things our bodies just cope with. People go through major car wrecks or fall from great distances and are unharmed sometimes. Amazing meat machines.
Try to keep your panic under control because there is not just one cause and not all causes suck horribly.

It all started with my left arm going numb/tingling. It has been this way for almost 2 years and they have no idea. They did a neck MRI and found out i had a very big "signal" on my spinal cord. They did one with dye and without and it didnt "brighten" up which is what tumors do from what i was told. They still dont know what that is.. So with that they ordered a Lower Lumbar spine MRI along with a brain MRI.
The spine was normal with no "signals" in my spinal cord and there was enough room for the nerves. When they did the brain MRI they noticed i had many white spots on my brain.. More on the left side. I also had a lesion on that was pushing against my pituitary gland. They told me my white spots didn't resemble MS since that is what all these tests were for. I'm 38 year old female.
I still blame any neurological disorder i have on the Army injecting me with one of the first doses of Anthrax back in 1997.
I go back to the VA in a few weeks to talk to neurology and see what the next step.
