Hello. Nitroglycerin really eases the pain with angina pectoris. The pain appears when there is no more possibility for blood to supply myocardium. With stable angina there is an organic obstruction and with unstable there is usually spasm of blood vessels. As a symptom, there is pain. Nitroglycerin spreads the blood vessels and the pain goes away. For faster efficiency, it should be out under a tongue. Your doctor should have explained this to you. I hope I was clear. Best of luck!
