I would like to say a few things about Yaz, not Yazmin. Allot of sites are gettin them confused... I have been taken yaz for 31/2 months now. first side affect I wuz fellin sick to my stomach, my daughter suggested taken it at night, I did and no problems now. I had a possitive additude when I first started taken this pill, I was will pretty much ready to take anything after having the worst periods for 17yrs.. My period started going crazy after I had my tubes tied when I was 24 if there was anything I would recommend to women dont tie your tubes... My periods were getting worse with every passing year, I was depressed on them, crying allot and didnt no why, couldnt go no were because I needed to use the restroom every 30 mins, I just stay home on my period days. I hated the end of the months and almost every holiday because I would always get my period, couldnt plan trips because they were terrible only for like 3-4 days but that was enough.I didnt think that they could get worse but they were for about two yrs.. down hill for me. I went to a new doctor in april and she recommend yaz I really didnt want to have to start taken the pill after 17 yrs of being pill free but I said Ill try it. I told the Doc I sure will let you know if it works.. Right away my first period I thought something was wrong because I wasnt bleeding to death like always.. My second month same thing light bleeding, now 3rd has passed, no more wearing a supper plus tampon and thick pads for me getting up every 30mins too every hour all night long for three days I can sleep again.. This has been the most wonderful thing for me. I actually made a hair appointment while I was on my period a week ago I was there 4yrs and did not have to go to the bathroom once.. I couldnt believe it.. its been great I dont have the bad cramping like I did, my legs dont cramp on me anymore when im on my period. This has just been wonderful for me I feel like can can be normal, if there is such a thing! I shop now too its great.... My husband said he noice I was real moody at first and would say he wanted me to go off but my periods were so great, I didnt care wat he said this is my life and he didnt have to deal with this pain for 17yrs.. I stuck it out and Im fine now. Anytime you are putting something in your body made by man your gonna have a reaction could be good could be bad.. Just try it out at least for 2 months it should tell your body if you need it or not.. When women take any pill the doctoe says what to women dont have sex or wear a condom right? it takes a while for things to balance out in your body. It mite be one month mite be three. Its been great for me but I think it works well for women who have serious problems on their periods. I dont think you should say dont take it just because it didnt work for you, it could change some else life for the better.. If your periods get worse as you get older the first thing the doctor says is you need a historectomy "it will be the best thing you ever did.." Im like ya my life will be worse hormones will really be all messed up.. Then I will have hair growning in funny places and will have to share my husbands razor.. women who are really havin problems like I was just give it a try if you dont like stop taken it.. God made doctors for some reason and that is to help others the best way they know how.. So we hope!

I have been on the Depo Provera birth control shot for almost 3 years now and I feel like I am going crazy. I scream at people for no reason, I am extremely on edge, I have severe panic attacks, and I'm unbearably tired. I just started having these symptoms over the last 6 months which I think is weird since I have been on the shot for almost 3 YEARS! That's a long time. So anywho, I had seen the commercial for YAZ and asked my new doctor about it. She handed me a few months supply and told me to start taking it on Sunday. No questions asked, nothing. Shouldn't she have asked me more questions? I'm scared to take the YAZ now after hearing all the negative side effects. Maybe I'd rather just be celibate at this rate. I don't want to feel like this anymore. I want myself back. If anyone has any suggestions let me know! Thanks!

I have been on Yaz for 3 months and it's been awful. My breasts are sore the majority of the month. I have gained weight. And I am extremely moody and emotional. I am switching back to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. The nurse at my doctor's office said a lot of women are unhappy with Yaz.

I have been on YAZ for just a month after being on 3 other pills within the last 2 1/2 years. I was kind of scared to start YAZ after reading all the horrible posts on here of people's experiences. So far, though, I have been pleasantly surprised and very happy with how YAZ is working for me. To all those who are a little nervous, just remember that even though some experiences are bad, others are just as good!

I have been on Yaz for a month now, no big deal. Previously I had been taking Aleese for 4 years and after about two years my period increasingly became shorter and shorter. Most people would think that is absolutely fabulous, not I. I rely on my period as most people my age do. Then to make matters worst, I was diagnosed with a extreme anxiety/panic disorder that my psychiatrist said the Aleese was not helping. Infact it was only increasing my anxiety as well as amplyfing. I also noticed I was gaining weight alot easier, something I never I had a problem with. I decided to switch to Yaz to see if it would help my issues. I have no complaints yet. I was nauseas my first two days of taking the pill which i expected b/c i was on the same bc for 4 years and when I began taking that it made me nauseas as well. My breast only became sore before my period and I have actually lost weight. I did break out slightly, but I am almost positive that was due to a huge fight my boyfriend and I had :'( . I did miss my period, but after consulting my gynocologist, she said that was completely normal going from a bc with 20 active pills to one with 24 active pills and it would balance out. I would say definitely research this pill before switching, if you have something that works for you stick with it. But I would compare some pills and talk to professionals before switching!

I have been on Yaz for almost a year and haven't had too many problems with it. I haven't gained weight, but i increased a whole cup size in my breasts...which i don't complain about at all. My periods last around 2-4 days. The first two months i didn't have a period because i think my body was still adjusting to the pill. But now i'm regular every month. The only problem i've seen lately for the past three weeks is that i haven't been able to sleep well, i wake up 2 to 3 times a night. I'm not sure if this is because of the pill or not? If anyone can help with this that'd be great. But My acne went away and it has helped my hormones because they were way imbalanced before going on the pill. I know side effects are different for everyone, but so far i have enjoyed being on the pill.

I've been on YAZ for almost 2 months now, and it's been great. If you've been taking it for birth control, I don't know what that does for "normal" people. I've been taking it for my PMDD, and I haven't had anything unbearable. I did have nausea, headaches, and a bit of eye pain, but nothing that lasted more than 4 or 5 days. It's totally controlled all my severe PMS symptoms!
I'll swear by this medication :-P

Hey,
I have been on Yaz for eight days now. I have also had my period for eight days which is really unusual for me. It isn't showing any signs of letting up. Has anyone else had this? If so, how long does it usually last? It's frustrating.
THanks.

I definitely had a horrific experience with YAZ. Keep in mind that I am usually even-keeled, happy, and sleep well. Two days after I began the pill, I had some horrible mood swings. The third night after I took the pill, I didn't fall asleep until 7:30 am. Four days into it, I was really really depressed. I had uncontrollable crying fits for no reason. I didn't sleep that night either. The following night, I broke out in hives. I fell asleep at the normal time, but woke up at 4 am and didn't fall asleep until that night. I took multiple doses of Tylenol PM in increments, and it didn't help. I was also "talking crazy" about killing myself and all kinds of stuff. I quit taking the pill that day, and all of the side effects subsided by the end of that week. Now I'm back to normal, but I'm really shocked that the doctor gave that stuff to me without warning me about the serious side effects.

I started taking YAZ 2 weeks ago when I NORMALLY received my period. I have been bleeding since, horrible cramps, fatigue, crying all the time, emotional, acne on my face and back(never had zits before like this),over-eating,constipation,and my boyfriend and I fight all the time and we never did before(I get upset over little sh*t). I am stopping this pill tonite after reading the posts I just read on here-I am NORMALLY happy, regular period,easy-going person. Should I expect to continue bleeding and any other side effects I should know about? My boyfriend wants me on b/c I was considering Ortho-Evra Tri-Cyclen Lo? Any suggestions?? :'(

I have been taking Yaz for about 2 weeks now, started taking it on time right when I NORMALLY received my period. I have not stopped bleeding since! Not only bleeding, fatigue, nausea, mood swings(starting to affect a great relationship with my b/f),weight gain, breasts hurt, crying all the time over stupid stuff, fighting all the time, zits on face and back(never had before) and I'm virtually waking up everyday miserable when I used to love waking up enjoying everyday. After reading the posts in this forum, I am stopping today. However, my boyfriend insists I take a b/c pill-I was thinking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo or Portia any suggestions? In the past (about 2yrs ago) I used the Nuva-Ring and Ortho-Evra Patch (both of which never gave me symptoms like I have now). Also, when I stop taking this pill what side effects should I expect and will I ever stop bleeding???? :'( >;)

I was seriously thinking I needed to consider anti-depression medication before reading these posts. I'm so glad to know that after 37 years of life I'm not loosing control of myself. I have been on Yaz for 3 weeks and have been uncontrollably irritable, had daily headaches, and cry at the drop of a hat. My boyfriend can't say or do anything right. I’m off these pills! I am glad however, that I didn’t have the low sex drive side effect

I've taken YAZ for two years, and have had no complaints whatsoever! I love it, except for the price of course (for some reason my insurance doesn’t cover YAZ, and to my knowledge there is not a generic yet)...I went off of it because of the price, my doctors office ran out of samples to give me (I guess I'm lucky I made it two years on samples)...
Now that I'm trying a new BC I've been having all of kinds of issues, every bad thing that has been described in this post about YAZ, I’m experiencing now coming off of it. Mainly irritability (I can not describe how bad my mood has been and I know it’s due to the change) I feel like I am loosing complete and total control of myself. The thing that’s confusing to me is that I was never this irritable on other pills BEFORE YAZ.
Has anyone noticed a dependency on one BC and changing to another? I really hope I can find a cheaper pill that works for me because I really can’t afford to pay the cost of YAZ every month. I guess if it comes down to it I will have to just suck it up, but for now I am hopeful there is another pill as good as YAZ but with a lower cost.
Does anyone know of a way to get Name brand medications for cheaper??

I have been on Yaz for about 4 months now. My periods never come when suppose to it lingers over to the next pack of pills is when i usually have my period(thie first week of the new pack and its light but not red in color more like clots) YUK!! I have visual disturbances and aggitated. I am increasinlgy not being able to sleep at night because of leg and arm cramping. Makes me feel uneasy. Though my skin is clear and looks the best it ever has....even though i get no sleep from the restlessness at night. It has dropped my potassium levels which is causing the restlessness at night and severe mood swings!!! My breasts have gone up a whole cup size which is good but i would rather be able to sleep instead. It has made my ankles swell and my fingers. This pill makes me feel just like I did when i was pregnant with my daughter 10 yrs ago. I am 34 and have tried many many pills. I have decided to not take any kind of pill I have had horrible experiences with several brands. This is the worst one yet!!!

ive been taking yaz for about a year now and i love it. i had terrible cramps before i started a bcp and started with yasmin which didnt help much with the cramping. my gyno suggested the yaz and since then i have been cramp free and feeling extremely wel. every once in awhile i will have tenderness in my breasts, and the rare mood swing, but it was definitely worth it.
